He killed members if his clan including his parents when he was 14 and deserted the village knowing one day he would have to let his brother kill him but his childhood was fine?

It's nothing compared to the likes of Nagatos. Like seriously. How the hell is Hakus worse than Nagatos

Lel if you want to count 14 as childhood then okay.

Itachi had plenty of happy years growing up through peace. A majority of Nagato's life was consumed by war, a war different than what goes on in the leaf village.

Itachi did not grew up in peace. He grew up in war. "By the time he was four years old Itachi saw many people die"
Honestly you cant even compare them. Nagato saw his parents killed, Itachi killed his.
Nagato saw yahiko his best friend die. Itachi saw his best friend Shisui die.

The kind of war I'm talking about isn't going on missions and killing people and earning status in anbu black ops. Nagato experienced the helplessness of living in a war torn area, unable to protect himself or his family. Shinobi would just barge in to peoples' houses on the outskirts of Amegakure to look for food/kill people. Nowhere in the story does it say that Itachi saw any of that kind of war.

Nagato also had the rinnegan implanted in his eyes and was being manipulated specifically for the purpose of traumatizing him. Itachi might have been a good shinobi growing up but that doesn't mean his childhood was harsh. It just means he had talent and was good at killing people.

The one tragedy that Itachi does have, he chose it for himself and he was 14 (hardly a child) at the time.

Dude I agree nagato had it bad but your sugar coating itachis childhood, I mean he decided at 4 he hated war he hated fighting and yet he fought everyday to protect everything he loves and on top of that his father and his whole clan were plotting to erase said love forcing itachi to kill his familey and clan, can you imagine the resolve of a pacifist to kill his family?

Still cant decide which was worse but itachi didnt have no happy go lucky childhood thats fo sho

I might have sugar coated it a bit to get my point across, but if fighting to protect your village is enough to traumatize someone then that covers almost every other active shinobi at that time. Every ninja has their missions and I don't see why Itachi being good at those missions means that

Before the Coup attempt, what did Itachi experience that was traumatic and different than what other shinobi were experiencing?
