Zetsu is still fairly powerful without Yamato. AN example of a way to take him out would be to plant spores on him, something ha managed to do to five Kage level shinobi at once without them noticing. While most of them managed to get rid of them quite easily, Hidan doesn't possess any ninjutsu to remove them, and would be forced to try to use his scythe. However, we do not know how effective that'd be, since a ember of the Seven Swordsman was vulnerable to the attack, and needed help to get rid of the clones.

Ad why do ppl still say the Yamato thing

With out obito sasuke would b fodder why (well he would've died 5 times at kage summit) and he wouldnve been blind as a bat because obito would've never operated on the transmit of his eyes and itachi's eyes
Not to mention without oro training and expirments done on him he would've never been strong enough to fight itachi there for itachi would've never have him Ms

Naruto would've been fodder without kurama (or well not exactly he have better sage mode) I retract tht statement Naruto would've been severally weaker

Thank u not to mention all seriousness zetsu merges with ground so he's safe from attacks (most of them especially hidan who only can use scythe) and can just eat him ppl forget zetsu is cannibal

Sasori had 100+ puppets left and let Chiyo kill him. Sakura also brought 2 antidotes along and ended up using both of them. Sasori left a vital blow on Sakura because he didn't give a shit about whether she lived or died. He didn't do so to Chiyo because that was his grandmother.

I'm not even taking that into account. Yes his clones get taken care of easy but it's the distraction against an opponent like Hidan that matters. Hidan's only weapon is his scythe, forcing close combat. From there Hidan runs the risk of Zetsu's spore jutsu (draining Hidan's chakra), Zetsu copying chakra (then Hidan fighting a weak copy of himself, making even more tired), or Black Zetsu's Mokuton. Zetsu with simple weapons can take care of Hidan, he plays too much in a fight and is one-dimensional. Also the fact that Zetsu can merge with the ground really hurts Hidan in battle because it makes him difficult to fight if Zetsu gets in a bind..

Manga shows otherwise. There are such thing as "contradicting statements". Sasori wasn't capable of taking on Sakura and Chiyo. While Deidara was able to take on Naruto and Kakashi and survive.
