considering that itachi solo'd so many with only M.S, he is TRUE solo king, madara is the current solo king but not by alot, he needed like 200 hundred years to achieve his solo status. itachi pops up in a arc from time to time and solo's the supposedly un-solo-able when ever he feels like it. just top put the icing on the cake, in a, edo itachi vs edo madara fight, itachi would win 9 times out of 10
and would solo madara to take the number one solo spot

You're all wrong, this has been said before, but the "solo king" is Kishmoto, he can easily kill off anyone's favorite character(-s) and/or end the manga causing "the death" of the characters and many fapboys.
Madara btw is using/used Hashirama's cells and power/abilities.

Itachi didn't killed more people because he hated killing, he also hated fighting and wasn't a heartless bastard like Madara is.
It's not like he wasn't capable of killing more people - a thousands of fodders, or even more Jounins and Kages, he just didn't wanted to.
I'm quite sure he was capable of defeat other Kage level shinobi, he also had a chance to finish of Jiraiya or Naruto (3 times) but he didn't...

Madara can't be the solo king. Super powers that make you better than everyone doesn't make you solo king. He is the fodder on which solo kings test their teeth .

Itachi is the solo king because of WHO he is not because of what he can do. His analytical and strategic mind are what make him the solo-king. Itachi didn't need super powers to beat his enemies his strategies and jutsu/style analysis are probably the best we have seen the Naruto vers. Though Jiraiya comes a close second on battle style/jutsu analysis analysis, he did figure out pain after all after only a few confrontations.

Madara by comparison is a lucky twit.

It's Madara - and I say this as an Itachi fan-girl. Even without being an Edo Tensei & Hashirama's cells I think it was pretty much still the case, but in terms of this 4th Shinobi War... yeah, Madara wins hands down.
Just have to look at that first instance where he begins working his way through an entire division with just his sharingan.

It's just not Itachi's style - mass genocide. He's true ANBU, like Kakashi. Stealth and one-hit-kills + team work. Itachi is always (apparently) with a partner, and he had his own team in ANBU too. Shisui, 'Madara', Kisame.

I'd rate Minato above Itachi too - it's not that Itachi is incapble, he just wouldn't want to or is ill suited for slaughter en masse. Minato on the other hand earned his 'flee on sight' bingo book tag for a reason. Reason being; SOLO KING. Solo'd those Kumo-nin who kidnapped Kushina rather nicely too, ne?

Madara obviously. Basically he soloed each character in this Manga. Itachi did it with the help of Obito, and had the Hokage on his side.

To be honedt, none of these two wouldn't have solo'd anyone if it wasn't for help by another or free power ups/zombie form.

The only true solo kings would either be Minato, Sasuke or Third Raikage due to the fact they took out an entire army on their own.

Though Gai is a Solo God and the 1 Shot/Hit King seeing as he turns up, cleans up some mess and goes on to play weak against his "rival" Kakashi.
