Imo its due to hashirama that allowed the senju to stand equal. If you look at the current manga and the things stated about hashirama, only he had these abilities and with that was the leader of not only his clan but the strongest ninja between the uchiha and senju. Whilst man for man the uchiha were stronger.

When Sasuke said only the elite of the Uchiha clan develop Sharingans, it was a particular bloodline in the clan, his bloodline.
And with that said, the unique powers offered by the Sharingan such as Kotamatsukami and Susano'o make that family inherently powerful whereas only Hashirama was genetically blessed from the Senju clan.

At underlined: Everyone in the Senju were blessed, they inherited the powerful chakra from the SO6P. There were probably other Yang users in their clan aswell. But Hashirama was just the most powerful and was able to use Mokuton.

Well, that's only because the Uchiha and Senju aren't really families of the village anymore. The Uchiha are completely absent and I don't think one person (Tsunade) qualifies as a family, y'know? And honestly, I'd like to know what the other Senju could do that was enough to keep the Uchiha at bay, y'know, while Hashirama and Madara were off being so indestructible and all. All the Uchiha had the Sharingan for the most part, but what did the Senju have that was powerful, though not as much as that of their leader? (Sharingan is to EMS, as ????? is to Wood Release) is basically what I'm saying, at least that's how I think it is.

Well, this isn't about who was stronger man for man.Clans battle as a unit so man for man is a mute point.Furthermore, do you think Hashirama was the only strong member of the Senju Clan? From a kg to the ability to control and suppress tailed beasts chakra to any abilities. No other person amonst his clan can do the things he did, including his brother. Whilst with the uchiha although some didnt have the sharigan, majority did and with that would most likely best a senju. Look at it this way, if we were to pit an average uchiha with the shairgan and an average senju, im certain the average uchiha would win.

Also toka i believe is the girl senju girl who was said to a master of genjutsu, but you see against any uchiha with the sharigan they would easily see through it and dispel it. We have already seen what itachi has done to konoha's best genjutsu user kurenai and although you'd say itachi is a different case, the shairgan grants the ability to see through genjutsu therefore after its been seen through, it can be broken easily. Basically its extremely hard to beat a sharigan user with genjutsu.

If anybody has an upperhand it might've been the uchiha due to the ability to see through any genjutsu a senju has offer, but also counter and predict ninjutsu and taijutsu.
What im basically saying is that in the senju only hashirama had a kg and with that was the strongest amonst not only his clan, but both clans. The reasons an average uchiha might have an advantage over and average senju is because of their sharigan

Also the myth about madara awakening the rennigan due to implanting hashirama dna is wrong imo and if i have time today ill prove it.
This is how i see it and i may be wrong, at least until the manga tells us what happened to the rest of the senju. Believe hashirama = madara. Izuna = Tobirama. It was said that as soon as the uchiha brothers awakened the ms did they take over the clan because their abilities were above the normal sharigan. Similarly hashirama due to abilities that only he inherited took over the clan along with his brother. Now madara and izuna were long gone and still the uchiha still stood firm, at least until itachi wiped them out. Now that cannot be said for the senju. I believe after Hashirama died and perhaps Tobirama did we see the downfall of the senju and its with that, that none of them exists anymore, apart from tsunade. Basically the uchiha couldve cope without madara and izuna, better than the senju without hashirama and tobirama.

This alone should tell you that hashirama was perhaps the only special person within the senju. In the same quote madara was talking about the senju (Tsuande) when he said 'they are nothing compared to you'.
He then went on to say "if i knew how weak they turned out to be i wouldve thought you to rise from the death". By how weak they turned out to be, he was referring to tsunade the only senju there whom madara has already acknowledged and has every intention of killing, after figuring out that she was a senju, but also mocking her and comparing her to hashirama

Im not comparing all senju's to hashirama. Im saying its the manga has made it very clear that only him inherited all the abilities. Secondly there is only 1 uchiha and 1 senju alive but thats besides the point. What im saying is that the uchiha were still alive and strong after izuna and madara (until itachi killed them), whilst i cannot say the same for the senju after hashirama and tobirama.
But since you've raised the issue of the only uchiha and only senju left, i believe we can all say ems sasuke >>>>>>> Tsunade
