who is the smarter shinobi?

itachi or minato? we have seen them in battle and they seem to be very calm and analyse their opponent to find the slightest weakness and use it to their advantage but who takes the title of smartest. let me know what you guys think.

It just depends on which opponent's their facing, not just their ability I think.

As far as I know about Minato, I think he's smarter than Itachi, Minato manange to find obitos weakness so easily on 3 sec, but I do not think Itachi is smarter than Minato yet, besides Minato is the fourth hokage after all.

Itachi can't beat Obitos intangibilty, cause he did not know about him, but Minato defeated him without any knowledge.

In terms of what we've seen, Itachi has the edge. He analyzed Rinnegan shared vision, Chibaku Tensei, Edo Tensei, and figured out ways to defeat all those jutsu in practically an instant. And like Minato, he also figured out a way to hit Obito. Itachi also seems to be terribly knowledgeable in both senjutsu, Sharingan techniques, and everything in between as well.

This one is so hard to chose they are both freaking awesome and i love their fighting style but i do go with itachi he has not only shown amazing skill in analisying jutsus on the battlefield but also great knowledge on overwall tech stories and he even knew about sage mode that s why i do go with itachi

I think Minato is better on finding their weakness and counter strategy, but Itachi is a type who analysing thing fast, but I think Minato would be smarter, cause he's the yellow flash after all.

Minato even knows about the TBB was coming, and prepared for space-time barrier, he also have great knowledge about it. Besides Minato is better than Itachi to find the targets weakness, but Itachi is better on analysing thing fast, without speaking it out.

Both of them are skilled at finding the opponents weakness and find a good counter strategy, I agree with u.

THIS...Minato and Itachi are on the same level of intelligence. Itachi has shown more feats than Minato, but if you look at the two battles Minato has had (against Obito, and the ultimate tagteam) he has shown to strategize and act in the same manner as Itachi.

dude its not itachi ..he would be 2nd or so ...minato will always be first no matter how you look at it ..you could say itachi because he was older and had more expirience and more time to learn things.. but minato was younger- he made rasengan from watching the kyubi use tbb ..for the first time ...he firgured out tobi's s/t faster than people who have seen it more than twice..he out smartest alot of people ...and he always was at his best since he was a kid.. ( at the part where he rescues kushina) - if minato lived to itachi's age he would have been smarter from the expirience though i understand people saying itachi is first though... i just dont believe he is

i would be willing to say that itachi's battle strategies are more in depth than minato's due to the fact that itachi uses a lot more different counters, and minato just uses seals and ftg... but its not really being able to say one is smarter than the other...
