Zoro's character is MEANT to convey a badass. That's his personality, hence the weaker crewmembers gushing and idolising him everytime he has a badass moment.

The same can be said with regards to idolising Sanji and Luffy
Luffy has had far more badass moments than Zoro. And as a Sanji fanboy I openly admit that Zoro is more badass than Sanji. I don't hate Zoro, I hate his fanbase, they're like the Ace fans of old.

All I have to say is that is your opinion. Somebody being "more badass" isn't surrounded by fact, it's all opinion. Different people might find different things badass. As you see, some people find Franky and even Brook to be the most badass. It's opinion.

Usopp for me. The way he set the WG flag on fire after his captains orders without a trace of his usual fear was simply Badass.
