Who is the Greatest Sannin?

Personally, for all intents and purposes, I'd say Orochimaru. Naruto and Sasuke were equals before the time skip, and after the time skip, Sasuke was obviously far superior to Naruto, who spent the same amount of time training with Jiraiya (meaning Orochimaru made a far better sensei as far as bringing out the student's potential). As far as acheivements go, Orochimaru was selected to be the 4th Hokage over Jiraiya and Tsunade, and even over Minato until Hiruzen faced the music about Orochimaru's secret activities. He's created and perfected a cornucopia of forbidden jutsu and even perfected Edo Tensei, considered to be the most powerful jutsu in the narutoverse. He created his own hidden village, deceived the entire Sand village into attacking Konoha, killed off the Fourth Kazekage, has come closer to immortality than any other character in the series, even established a fail safe against being sealed/killed in the form of his cursed seals. He uncovered the secrets of the Uchiha Stone Tablet through experimenting on Madara's body, learned to cultivate Hashirama's cells and successfully recreated the wood style, was considered a threat by the Akatsuki, learned and mastered Senjutsu (although unable to use it for himself, he used it to create his cursed seals), went toe-to-toe with 4-tailed Naruto like it was a game, and, of course, survived the Reaper Death Seal. I could go on but i've already produced an unreadable wall of text.

It's what I consider "false hype" because Tsunade went on to prove the reason Madara claimed Hashirama's superiority wrong. Healing without handseals was the one of the biggest reasons Madara gave the title to Hashi. And hell, even Kabuto has done that.

Lets not forget, Madara has no clue about Katsuyu or her various feats in medical ninjutsu. It's why Hashirama's hype is so flawed in so many cases. Madara just boasts him as the strongest everything without having any clue of what others can truly do.

Its the same technique.. meaning he had a regeneration technique like hers. It does not mean he had that seal.. because clearly he didn't.
Tsunade herself admit that shes not Shodaime's level in that aspect of healing.

But She is without a doubt the greatest medic in Naruto history.

I'll interject that Tsunade was the last to be chosen for Hokage. Orochimaru was the first choice back when the 4th Hokage was being chosen although Hiruzen had to face the music that Orochimaru only wanted the position for the power. Jiraiya was chosen next but turned the position down, then the position was taken by Tsunade. (Since Tsunade was nowhere to be found when the position opened it could be said that this is the only reason Jiraiya was chosen over her).

Orochimaru was never the first choice. Even Tsunade stated that Sarutobi always wanted Jiraiya to succeed after him. And I really don't get why your bringing in the past. Hokage is the highest title in the ninja world. And she has it out of the 3. She is the greatest. She has contributed more to the ninja world and Konoha.

After a generation or two, who remembers the teachers of the famous people? Who knows who taught hashirama? or who taught white fang?
People will remember the yellow flash, The hokage, but Jiraya well just be remembered as one of the sannin...

Tsunade will be remembered as one of the sannin + medical genius + Hokage

Orochimaru will be remembered because he was that snake eyed evil guy who attacked konoha..

Jiraya wont even be remembered for what he did against Pain, because only a few knew about it really

Although most of this may be true, his name will still be thrown around for quite some time. Not to mention he published his own novel. Also, im not only basing it off of how long they will be remembered, but also their accomplishments.

I mean, all three are always going to be remembered as part of the three legendary Sannin, so in a sense, they'll be equally remembered for the roles they played in that specific squad. But yeah, if I had to look at individual legacies, i'd probably have to go with Tsunade possessing the longest, simply because of her role as leader of the village.

They all have exceeded their predecessors in different ways. They cancel each other out in power (rock, paper, scissors symbolism) and in feats and they all will be remembered, maybe even turned into god figures a hundred years after their deaths like the first and Madara.

Tsunade wasn't much of a memorable Hokage. She was the weakest among them and the Sannins.
Oro would be remembered for his intelligence and scientific discoveries while Jiraiya shall be remembered as a hero.

Him capturing and running tests on people is under the same category as mastering many forbidden jutsu.

As far as him about to be chosen as Hokage, he was a candidate and lost. Where Tsunade and Jiraiya was given the option whether they wanted to be Hokage or not. It was up to them to accept or decline the proposal, which was different in Orochimarus case.

As for everything else you mentioned, how is that going to be considered a major accomplishment or something he will be well known for? I didn't underrate Orochimaru, it was just not needed to bring up.
