Who is the better protagonist in your opinion? Naruto or Luffy?

I personally prefer Luffy, he's funnier and more straightforward, although I don't think his character has developed as much as Naruto.

Luffy is a rather simple and safe main character. Unnaturally stupid and incredibly inspirational. That being said, his development is almost entirely physical with maybe one or two emotional changes. He's the perfect protagonist for One Piece, but overall I'd have to give the nod to Naruto. Not by much though.

But the elastic kid and fox boy will be my favourites for life. Love those two!

Naruto for me.I don't find anything that I like a lot about Luffy (I don't dislike them either) and honestly if the manga was more focused on him I don't think I would read it.On the other hand I find Naruto more interesting and I believe he can "stand alone" better than Luffy.

Luffy, and of course Luffy was never going to win in this on Narutobase try this poll on OnePieceBay and it'll be the complete other way round.

Compared to Luffy's character Naruto has not grown that much.
