Who is stronger? Jiraiya or Orochimaru?

Well according to the databooks, Jiraiya was given a score of 35.5 out of 40 compared to Orochimaru's 35. That being said, I believe regardless that Jiraiya is the better out of the two. He was able to keep up with Oro soon after being drugged by Tsunade.

I think Jman is stronger than Oro physically, but I think Oro has a lot more powerful jutsu's at his disposal.

I read quite opposite though(feel dumb)
Jiraiya couldn't bring back orochimaru from darkness.if he was stronger then,he could have brought him back.in my mind, I see orochimaru stronger than jiraiya.

I would probably say Jaraiya, although if orochimaru uses edo tensei he could turn the tables, but one on one would say jaraiya, with his sage mode and wider range of summonings I think he's got this, Orochimaru's techniques are mostly for substitution uses or blocking attacks.

Hiruzen didn't seal his techniques. Orochimaru still has (had) them all.

What Hiruzen did was seal his hands, which meant Orochimaru couldn't form any seals, which meant he couldn't use his techniques.





I love Jiraiya, but I'm picking Orochimaru as the stronger of the two

In my opinion I would have to say Jiraiya, and one of the reasons I say that is because Oro went after Itachi first and Itachi didn't even break a sweat making him look like and idiot and as a result Oro left the Akatsuki. Whereas when Itachi was going after Naruto and saw that Jiraiya was traveling with him he said he wouldn't be able to take him on his own and that at the very least both of them would die. Itachi must have seen Jiraiya as a very powerful ninja.

This isn't the only reason I choose Jiraiya but I thought I'd point this out! =)

A fight between them must be very close knowing so much about each other but Sage mode J-man will make the difference.
