Who is stronger, Jiraiya in SM or Naruto in SM

Just like the title says, please also note that Naruto is at his strength before training on the island with Bee.

Aka no Kyuubi mode for Naruto.

Just looking for some opinions on the matter, some evidence/proof would be nice too.

Edit: Not comparing their Sage mode levels, but the 2 characters as a whole and how they fair in a fight.

Naruto, Pa eve nstated that Naruto had no toad like characteristics and Jman did, so Naruto's was more perfected then Jman's and on top of that Naruto's Sage Mode should be EVEN STRONGER then it is right now, but it couldn't be perfected cause he has kurama inside him so yea Naruto

In my honest opinion, it would go to Jaraiya. Only because his arsenal of jutsus are greater than Naruto's and he has more experience using senjutsu than Naruto. But with time Naruto would had surpassed Jaraiya in senjutsu.

i think naruto would be stronger. The reason for this is because when he first "mastered" sage mode, he could only make a total of 5 clones. Now how many clones can he make? I cant even count. Plus all of them go into sage mode at once. So i dont think it would be a problem for him to maintain sage mode. But i dont know.. Jiraiya is a Sennin and he would put up a really good fight. and Jiraiya has battle experience and he is much much wiser than naruto.

Purely because of his ability to remain in SM, Jiraiya takes this one.

Keep in mind Naruto had plenty of tactical knowledge regarding Pain, the element of surprise occasionally (second time rasenshurraken seen, sudden return to SM when depleted from Pains POV), as well as a small army of super massive toads.

Naruto didn't beat Pain w/ Sage mode.
*He had to use 6 Tails(That's a powerful power boost)
*And he used 8 Tails(Extremely powerful power boost)


Then he didn't kill Nagato, Nagato sacrificed himself.
He would've died in that fight, but we needed a main Character, so he had to win.

I've gone along with what most people said yeah I believe in a battle of sage mode Jiraiya would win but only by a little margin...as to be honest Jiraiya has nothing really to defend himself against Rasenshuriken.

Yes Naruto used Kurama's power in his fight with pain but to my knowledge Kurama never defeated any of the pains it was Naruto...yep he took out all 6 even when Deva had it's powers so what you said has no relevance at all...also Nagato in the state he was in when he had all the stakes in his back couldn't beat Naruto his only way of attacking was a rod that flew out of a machine and even that failed...hence the reason Konan was protecting him.

about mastery, naruto mastered the sage mode but on the other hand, jiraiya has as good as naruto's sage capabilities when fused with the sage toads. that alone doesnt make naruto strongeer than jiraiya.

a similar discussion took place before naruto's facebook group was closed. some said naruto was stronger than pain simply because he defeated the six paths who had all nagato's abilities but it was clear during the war that naruto was no match for nagato even with bee's assistance. they couldnt even injure him.
naruto defeated pain doesnt make him stronger than jiraiya who lost to pain. the conditions of battle were different like you all already know. furthermore, i wouldnt like to compare a kid who has little battle experience to jiraiya who thousands of techniques. naruto is the main character so there always has to be a way for him to triumph even if it's a dumb method.

1) kyubi didnt kill the pains yeah but where was naruto before kyubi came out? he was pinned down with rods helpless. matter of fact deva path didnt stab his vital organs simply because he needed the jinchuuriki alive. he had naruto @ his mercy.

2) nagato had used considerable amount of chakra to destroy konoha leaving deva path for the time naruto had the chance to take out 4 pains. it would have been a different story if deva path had his powers from the start.

3) nagato fighting against kyubi weakened him so much that he started coughing out blood. that also gave naruto an advantage. yes deva path had his powers but go and rewatch that scene. naruto's clones threw him with a rasengan @ deva path who was surprised @ naruto's determination. just then nagato coughed and briefly lost concentration/control leaving deva path vulnerable to the attack which he could have easily dodged with naruto airborne. naruto just had to win.

well, at the minute Naruto has tamed the nine-tails so he CAN fuse with ma and pa. Therefore he would of defeated pain if he had this ability because that is the reason he lost. So Naruto would take this because his sage mode was better than Jiraya's which is a huge advantage.

If you are talking about BEFORE he tamed the nine-tails then J-man would take this hard diff. Mainly because he can stay sage mode as long as he likes and obviously he has more battle experience than him.

Well this isn't a sort of good basis. Jiraya Naruto actually mastered sage mode and could do techniques that Jirayia didn't like the katas. In a hand to hand fight, Naruto would win because Jirayia couldn't block Both Naruro's attack even though he could see the katas. In jutsu power they'd be even but the FRS is the strongest, fastest jutsu in Naruto's arsenal.

They're both same skill level, Jirayia being more advanced but Naruto's traps are still genus level. Always being 3 steps ahead. Jirayia's stronger but I'd say Naruto's more powerful.

that means nothing toward saying jmans is better...he only used it slightly longer than naruto did with each clone before he got taken out, plus naruto was throwing massive attacks while jman (still love him tho) was dodging around and quite honestly not using much chakra at all. if you use no chakra you could stay in sage mode eternally, but actually using it in a fight is going to drain jman just like it would naruto. Honestly i dont see ma and pa being a factor because unless there was some weird backstory pitting naruto as evil, why would they help jman attack naruto? He cant force them to help, he can summon them and then they choose to. Also, naruto is going to be more efficient getting back to sage mode since he just has to call back a shadow clone vs jman having to summon a toad to fight for him while he sits still and gathers chakra. If this were a completely emotionally detached battle naruto wins hands down, but if emotions and relationship are a factor, i dont see him following through with the kill, and even then i see jman only beating him in a sensei type way (knocking him out or something then explaining his failing upon revival so as to teach him more).

Naruto didn't have the deva path to wory about, the asura was killed instantly. if pain had all his powers, he would crush naruto in seconds. Also, Naruto was spoon-fed info by everyone.
