Who is stronger, Jiraiya in SM or Naruto in SM

This was about who had the stronger Sage Mode not who did better against Pain. Fights are rapid and change quickly. My point is that the Pain fight should not be used to judge who is more powerful in Sage Mode.

what ?? i didn't mean it in the sense that kurama is not naruto's power (even though naruto didn't control kurama at that time), the thread maker asked about SM and my answer was only about SM, naruto in SM and with the knowledge failed and an unleashed OUT OF CONTROL kurama (not naruto) gave pain all sorts of trouble and if naruto mastered the kyuubi's power at that time i would have given him the credit but again this is about SM. also did you just say that nagato is nothing without rinnegan :sy: he mastered it and has total control over it so .... slow down and write well thought posts before jumping in to make a silly point

he is a common enemy that they both had to fight to the death, and both used SM against him .... the differences are the circumstances, and naruto had a better shot with all of the aid he got (information) and failed.

Jiraya had permanent Sage Mode because he could fuse with Ma and Pa. Naruto didn't and he still crushed the first five Pains and if you check Naruto was NOT in Sage Mode when Deva Path trapped him.

jiraiya fought pein zero intel and won. fought six with intel and lost due to guerilla warfare tactics and cheap shot his throught.
naruto fought with all intel at the last sec into the battle and got beat by deva & preta realm, ninetails beat deva and ct. regular naruto wins by rasegan. Jiraiya>naruto in sage mode terms. naruto didnt even fully master sage mode

i don't care coz naruto had info, so he was aware of the reviver and had info and failed and naruto can't have ma and pa because of the kyuubi. now you said it jiraiya has ma and pa in sage mode so thats a plus (are you supporting my side?) but its not perminent.

il make this as simple as i can :

naruto in SM : went there prepared (clones), had info detailed info about what each path can do and saw all the six at once but failed. (info is the biggest factor to win against pain).

jiraiya : went there, got lured without any info (reckless), didn't see all of the paths from the beginning (pain had a plan) and the reviver was the biggest ticket for him to win thats why it was hidden, still jiraiya took out three of them with one hit (made one unusable) and figured out the secret.

^^^^had it being from the start of this thread your comparison was based on what you listed there ^^^, everybody would have understood you question but your thread tittle/poll only mentioned strength which many people misunderstood your question/purpose of discussion.

if its the mastering of the SM it is obvious naruto was better in SM than Jiraiya ....

but in a fight i would give Jman the advantage .... Jman can stay in SM as long as he wants bcos he is fused with pa and ma ...thats like fighting 3 well experienced people also Toad Song and other variety of jutsu from Pa and Ma gives Jman a better chance
on the other hand naruto has to rely on his clones which can be 3-5 max i think

Jiraiya is stronger, he knows more techs and all of Naruto's except rasen-shuriken. Naruto would have lost to Pain if he was in Jiraiya situation and would have lost if he didn't have Kurame or Hinata to save him. Pain even said if Jiraiya would have beat him if he knew his techs.
