3. Light (Could've been the smartest, but got too cocky)

Edit: 1 and 2 are a toss up by the way, both are brilliant in different ways.

you will love it , code geass is just more futuristic and it has 50 episodes so its longer than deathnote

Lelouch succeded in his plan and Light failed, but it was his follower's fault for being followed to the bank. L died because he didn't know of the shinigami. Sorry I haven't watched Death Note in forever, I forgot some things

Well the dynamics are different in death note the whole thing is on a one on one basis and other than the note itself light had no advantages. in code i would equivocate lelouch to a battle field tactician and brilliant strategist and commander. but in one on one situations he often had to fall back on his advantage his geass. He just wasn't built for one on one war fare.I think L was best because even though he lost it was only because light was lucky and everything fell into place just right. but i think L showed the most ability at using his intellect to both command groups and decipher one on one situations so he is essentially the best of the other two.

True man. You've convinced me that L is smarter than Light but Lelouch isn't as smart as Light. Lelouch is my 4th fav anime character ever, but he is not all around smart like Light is.

Yeah, I may be a little bias as I love Lelouch and dislike Light xD

But I consider both semi-equal, just different type of intelligence. If you switch both cases, they would have both failed.
