Who is smarter? Sasuke or Shikamaru?

I believe you are forgetting Itachi. He is possibly the smartest in the manga

Itachi and Minato are both geniuses in their own rights and i am not forgetting about them but In terms of Intelligence Shikamaru/his dad are second to none.

Nah Shikamaru and Shikaku > Itachi... in smartness. People like Hashirama and Danzo and Minato are either pars with Itachi or smarter. Itachi just knows alot, because hes been traveling.

Are you joking me? have you seen Itachi in battle? He can analyse his opponents attacks and weaknesses and use that to win. At least his intellect is the same as Shikaku

Shikamaru is smarter when he has plenty of intel and the time to plan ahead. But Sasuke's smarter when it comes to figuring things out and coming up with tactics in the middle of the action.

The exact same could be said of Shikamaru. Shikaku is definetly the smartest in the narutoverse followed by Shikamaru. Tobi even said that it was regretable having Shikamaru as an opponent. Thats like the best complement you can get in the Narutoverse. After that Itachi is tied with Minato, Tobi, Oro and Kabuto but there is probably a ton of people that in the middle before you get to Sasuke.

I wasn't calling you dumb I was referring to the raikage...but as far as out smarting Hidan, Sasuke wouldn't have needed to...he would have just cut his ass in half...lets put Shikamaru in the place of Sasuke and let him fight Orochimaru, Deidara, Itachi, killer bee, Raikage, Mei, Onoki and Danzo, Shikamaru will get his ass raped by all of them
