Okay then, at 14 Obito had knowledge on multiple things, he was a mad scientist and was mainipulating Nagato, he also controlled a perfect jin and was a decent stradigiest.

Your arguement is invalid.

Knowledge does not equate to intelligence. As for your other points:

Mad scientist? I only ever recall Obito dealing with eyes in that laboratory, nothing particularly impressive. Orochimaru is the one that fits that name better.

Your second point about Nagato is invalid as Itachi never tried to manipulate anyone for his own benefit, he did however, remain a spy for Konoha and gathered intel about the Akatsuki and seeped it through to Konohagakure, without Nagato noticing.

A decent strategist? Madara tells him what to do and he does it? Or do you mean in battle? Where he has relied on Kamui most of the time? And look at him now, no Kamui and his attacks are failing and he's took damage.

Obito is pretty darn smart (sometimes & he does have Madara's inventions with him) he has shown some intelligence with fighting against Minato , but was outsmarted which he could've been only a little smarter and he could've won if he knew a certain jutsu or setup combination for Minato's FTG.

Itachi plays careful to not let his movements be felt easily by his opponents. His analytical skills with his limited mobility (since he doesn't move around much) Obito has more knowledge than Itachi , but Itachi is a much better interpreter than Obito when it comes to people.

idk , but I pick Itachi.

Wait what? Are you asking which one is more intellegent or which one knows more about the SO6P and Juubi? I mean if you put me in a room with a 5 year old and said "Well Fear is pretty smart but the 5 year old has a borderline encyclopedia-like knowledge of barney and scooby-doo" then id tell you go stfu..

Itachi is more intelllegent hands down, If Obito was as smart as Itachi was then he wouldnt have gotten USED by Madara. Dont get me wrong, the guy is strong, but dont confuse strenght with Intellegence. Obito may know some Jutsu's but Itachi is just plain smart.

BTW, A persons ability with Genjutsu is based on their intellegence, which is why genjutsu user are often smart people, dont take my word for it look up the wiki. And BTW Itachi has the most powerful genjutsu in the Naruto-verse, even Sasuke who has its exact copy cant do the things he can do with genjutsu... And does anyone remember "Mirror Heaven and Earth change"??? Come on now dont even get me start... You might as well be comparing Naruto's intellegence to Tobirama's...

Obito used his Genjutsu to controll a Jinchuuriki for years. Not to mention he lead the whole village through him...

Obito wasn't used by Madara. Madara tried that, but ultimately, it was Obito's own decision to change the world, and he made clear enough that he doesn't do things for Madara's sake (not planning to revive him from the start and becoming Jinchuuriki in his place).

He's a scientist, something Itachi isn't
He is decent at analysis and he thinks quick on his feet, he is also a master mainipulter and a very good planner.

Obito outclasses Itachi in intellegence overall deal with it.

He does not, what so ever... I don't what criteria you're listing under intelligence, but the majority of them have nothing to do with it..
When it comes to thinking quick on feet, Itachi is better, When it comes to planning, Itachi is better, In fact , Itachi outright admitted that... The majority other forms of intelligence goes to Itachi Except KNOWLEDGE

Obito

.Scientist
.Mainipulater (mainipulated itachi)
.Planner
.Quick Thinker
.Knowledge of a 150 year old man
.Analythical person

Itachi
.Planner
.Mainipulater
.Anaylthical person

Obito is smarter than Itachi by a tad bit IMO.

Itachi only out wits (barley) him in battle analysis/planning.

Deceitfulness and the ability to use cunning correlate with intelligence.. a person can have a low iq yet still be the best conman manipulator on the streets..

You're measuring them in list form when you should be measuring them by the degree of them..
By a tad bit you say? Obito stated that he was "Amazed" by how far Itachi plans ahead ... He stated that Itachi Never ceased to amaze him

This is a man who has known itachi since a kid, and has constantly been in awe of his intelligence.. and it still seemed he didn't know the sheer scope of his capabilities.. considering he was so amazed at the amaterasu trigger, I wonder what he would say he if he found out about the kotoamatsuki backup plan...

As I stated before, intelligence is an umbrella term.. there are many things that you test for to determine it..

and if we're to individually look at each of these criteria , Itachi , since a child, having hokage level insight has been more of a genius than Obito ever was in his life

Quick thinking is a form of intelligence, but why in the world would you list that under Obito and not Itachi? What feats have Obito displayed in fast thinking in combat situations that outshine Itachi's?

Obito isn't scientist, and as I said, you're confusing knowledge with intelligence...What you're listing isn't speaking about his true intelligence..

Sasori is a puppeteer genius, has probably studied puppets all his life, does that mean he's more intelligent than Itachi because of that? No, it means he's simply more knowledgeable in a certain field

What exactly is Obito a scientist of? and since when does being a scientist make you smarter than anyone else who doesn't study science?

Looks like there is no changing you're mind.

I'm judging them by overall.

Obito just simply put has more intellegence feats than Itachi.

If you disagree that's cool I'm not going to force my opinion down your throat.

I'm sorry, but I have to go with the one that manipulated the other one along with the rest of the world and became an actual deity. So Obito.

Obito, he was playing far more people and factors than Itachi. He already beat Itachi in his game of wits since he managed to get Sasuke on his side, managed to stay hidden from everyone's radar, and hijack Madara's plot.

This

There's a distinction here between knowledge and intelligence ... When you break down intelligence into its several derivatives, logic, abstract thought, understanding, self-awareness, communication, learning, having emotional knowledge, retaining, planning, and problem solving., Itachi obviously comes out on top.. that's self evident, we've seen Obito actually praising his intelligence in the manga already, his planning and problem solving..

When it comes to learning and understanding, Itachi once again was the superlative student here when it comes to academics and being a ninja... While Obito was a lackluster student, he had to train extremely hard to get where he is, though he surpassed itachi in sheer power , we're talking about his intellectual capability right now

As for retaining information, i.e memory, Can't speak about that can't we, We can easily say that at a younger age Itachi, we can by right say Itachi was better at this as reflected in his better grades, but they grew up, I can't make a distinction

Cunning, deceit and manipulation are not parts of intelligence.... You can have an average intelligence and know what words to tell a person to make them obey you , it's just being sly, nothing else

Now back to the distinction I was making .. Knowledge is the accumulation of facts and information that you have learned about or experienced. It’s being aware of something, and having information, self evidently , Obito, like Tobirama had ALOT of this.. he had information on just about all Konoha's clans, and their abilities, and never ending information on the Sage of 6 paths, his story and legacy....

As stated before, Intelligence is more of an umbrella term used to described mind properties and related abilities.. Knowledge, is just one factor of intelligence... just one, and in no way does it equate to being more intelligent that a person, or more of a genius than a person

You study half your life in computer science, while another person studies for half their life in theoretical physics... There is no way to tell who is more intelligent from that fact.. all we know is that the computer science major is likely more knowledgeable in computer science vice versa...

I'll reiterate the important points... Cunning and deceitfulness are not traits of intelligence... You can be as wise as some ancient philosopher and still be unable to lie and get your way with people....While the average intelligence street conman can do a much better job at it than you ..

Knowledge also is only one aspect of intelligence, If you're comparing two people, you have to compare all of them

And the end result of that is Itachi by a landslide

That's why Obito learned how to tame beasts in months, and that's why he remembered every single bit of training and knowledge he was given from Madara......

Right....:dunno:

The moment he got Ms he was able to tame tailed beasts.. what does this have to do with intelligence?

Ok? He was spoon fed info every day for an unknown amount of time by Madara.... Once again? Put neji in his place and neji would learn the exact same things as obito.. Put Shino and he would remember the exact same things that was said, put kakashi and it would be the same outcome.... What does THIS have to do with intelligence?

Regurgitating info you learned from school/lessons? Aren't you forgetting Itachi was better at that also? with his perfect test scores? Especially when sharingan pretty much gives you Eidetic memory , allowing you to replicate events and situations in memory almost perfectly..

Haven't read the thread. Itachi by far. Obito had those to spoon feed him information. Those like Madara, Zetsu, and all others who had acquired it on their own.

Itachi had discovered a good deal about the shinobi world; and even found "Madara" on his own. He really didn't have anyone holding his hand. Or, nearly as much as Obito had

A point that I failed to mention..

Itachi never had or relied on anyone during his life.. his academy teacher said they barely had to teach him ANYTHING at all... and after 13 he was completely on his own...

Obito in a couple of months, became a damn genius, he learned so much information so very fast, and he improved greatly, he basically went from idiot to genius in such a short spam. That's all I'm saying.

You counted Itachis learning ablities but not Obitos.

I smell bias.

Itachi is the smarter one. Obito is more manipulative though.
