I'm shocked that PT1 Sakura was even ranked 8 in one of them. She was one of the most annoying characters of the series.

Sakura was great at the beginning of part 2,she should have been in the top 5.Infact,her growth and development was better than even Naruto's.

Yes, she was good in early part 2. However, if you look closely, that's PT 1 Sakura, and the PT 1 versions of all the characters. Therefore, out of all the PT 1 characters, they ranked Sakura 8th! With characters like Garra behind her, and Orochimaru not even in the results!

Sasuke's popularity in Japan is actually at it's highest the less he's shown, due to the resulting suspense the fandom feels.

When it was 2006, he won even without being shown in Shippuden yet. That's why they had to use his part one version for the poll. Lol

I don't think Sasuke would have won had he gotten more exposure right before poll 7's release. Sasuke and Naruto were on the same team in part one with equal exposure. Sasuke didn't win once until part 5 (probably because this was taken around the Valley of the End fight and avenging one's kin is a great character theme).

He appeared on Half a panel in chapter 515, the last 2 pages of 553,the first page of 567,and finally came back in with a good amount of screen time in chapter 574,before then,the last time we saw a good amount of him was 487,which was 87 chapters earlier which was about 1 year and 9 months

Well Naruto OC but slightly more popular than Sasuke.
At least Sasuke is the manga savior from poor Kaguya arc...he's the reason why the manga finally took the #1 spot again (The poor Kaguya arc always got #7 or #8 But after the "revolution" idea, BAM! #1 was on Kishi's hands)

That's not a typical popularity poll. That's a White Day poll. White Day is the Valentine's Day equivalent for the Japanese. It's a day when a girl gives chocolate or a small gift to the guy she fancies.

This just proves that Sasuke has the most Japanese fangirls in real life out of all the Naruto characters.

This thread is about popularity with the fandom as a whole- boys and girls alike. Not which character people want as their significant other. That differs greatly.

Looks-wise. Sasuke is considered aesthetically appealing, whereas Naruto is not.
