[Discussion] Who is more intelligent?

Hiruzen says that about both Itachi and Orochimaru are geniuses. (Stated in wiki.)

They are both a 'one-in-a-generation' genius. According to Hiruzen, Orochimaru is highly clever at his Genin age. Orochimaru was into things other children weren't capable of thinking of.

On the other hand, Itachi graduated at a age of 10 and surpassed many Shinobi and aside from (Naruto &) Sasuke, he is still not surpassed by other people.

True. Oro was into a lot of dangerous stuff, but intelligence stays intelligence.
He maybe could've been into different stuff, but that doesn't change the fact that he was a genius.

i remember a flash back of orochimaru noticing itachi for the first time as a child ororchimaru realised at that point that itachi would become one of the best in the world due to his sharingan so i say itachi but you could argue orochimaru had no sharingan no bijuu no byakugan or rennigan and you cant deny his power jiraiya said he came to death when naruto had 4 tails orochimaru thought him without hands he also thought to sannin without hands itachis my faverouite character in the series but orochimaru is a genius

In the standard sense of intelligence, Shikamaru babyshakes.

It's just that he doesn't have the raw power to compete with the others, but since this is only taking intelligence into account, he comes out on top.
