Who is better in using Water Release, Kakashi or Itachi?

Kakashi Hatake was able to demonstrate ability in using Water Release jutsu, although at times, those were copied jutsu granted by his Sharingan.

Itachi Uchiha was also capable in using Water Release jutsu, though this ability was rather overshadowed by his Sharingan/Mangekyo Sharingan jutsus.

Both can use Water Release without an existing water source.

During their first fight in Part I, both showed their proficiency in Water Release: Kakashi copying Kisame's Water Shark jutsu and making a Water clone; Itachi using Water Fang Bullet jutsu and Shadow clone that explodes. So who do you think is better? xd

I reckon that they're about the same in skill. Although since Kakashi has been copying jutsu left and right, he probably has more water techniques up his sleeve than Itachi.

Itachi might have the edge because he was with kisame for some time, Who is one of the best water users in the manga.

I was wondering when did Itachi used it. I saw his jutsu list at Narutopedia and Water Dragon is listed but with a note Manga only. Did he use it during his fight with Naruto or Kabuto?

Dont forget that Itachi also has the sharingan so he can copy water jutsus too, and he was with Kisame the whole time. So I say Itachi.

This is tricky because we can bring in hype about how itachi is also a sharingan user and was partnered with kisame therefore he wouldve copied his less chakra consuming techniques, but also itachi's true chakra nature is actually water. His fire affiliation is more of a kg, that all uchiha's have within them and specialise in.

Id go by feats and say kakashi
