Take Jiraiya and Minato out and I think all of them are good at reading opponents, especially Itachi, Sasuke, and Kakashi - I have never seen these guys disappoint in regards to analyzing their opponents. What the hell is Naruto doing on that list?

Really? Then why didn't Sasuke went back to Konoha after he died as Itachi knew, but when he got revived back by Edo Tensei then everything was opposite.

people take the words of kabuto literary. like they don't know literature at all. Kabuto said that itachi can somehow feel what others are thinking and their feelings.
now for manga facts Itachi has only figured out weakness of chibaku tensei and the counter to that jutsu was preety lame. any 1 knows that they have to attack chibaku tensei with the massive force. apart from this nothign special from itachi

Minato is really the best in figuring out jutsu
1.Minato recognized killer B was a jinchuriki
2.Minato recognized how chidori works and its weakness just by watching it for first time
3.Minato figured out Rashingan from studying TBB
4.Minato figured out working of FTG and improved it
5.Minato figured out how Tobi's ST ninjutsu works and defeated him instantly

etc etc

I agree with your point, but Minato is also a quick thinker and knows how to counter things quickly, no doubt why they call him for The Yellow Flash.
