who is a greater character : Minato OR itachi??????????

On the contrary, Minato was presented to be far more perfect. He seemed like a good "pretty" boy all throughout life. Kishi never highlighted his flaws & only did so to his strengths.

But he is not, and that's what gives him the edge over Itachi. He is, if anything, far from perfect. Hell, in the war he is downright haunted by his mistakes via Obito, not to mention the interactions with his son. He even undergoes character development from it.

Itachi got depth, he explained his actions & admitted his mistakes & flaws. Lived in the shadows & made countless sacrifices.

In a pure character analysis Itachi takes this by far.

He admitted his mistakes. Okay, and? Itachi's biggest character development in the entire series is ultimately a change of opinion. And not even one presented to him, but one he makes himself. Itachi is so incredibly self reliant and perfect that if he was the main character of this series, he would be a textbook example of a mary sue.

In the end, Itachi as a character holds up very, very poorly.

Itachi's character development in the manga is streets ahead of Minato's.

Itachi has a much more deeper character development. His character is deeper than anyone else. What Itachi did to protect Konoha is far better than what Minato, or anyone else in this matter, has done. He subjected himself to torture his entire life for the sake of peace.

I really like Minato but I feel like the series went more in depth about Itachi and I like how you slowly realize Itachi is a good guy and he keeps getting better and learn more about him each time you see him compared to Minato who people knew was a good guy from the start.

Its more about that they are ready sacrifice everything for village, that is what makes ninja great. Minato sold his soul to fight Kyuubi for eternity for whole village and cursed his son life. Itachi killed whole clan for sake of village but made from Sasuke indirectly criminal obsessed with power. In the end Minato sacrificed more, as Hokage he threw his life for village without second thought. He could run away and live somewhere with Naruto but choose village about his family happiness. Uchiha would be massacred with or without Itachi, he choose it do it only for Sasuke sake. Minato was better ninja as Itachi.
