Obito. He kept your attention, and was the most talked about villain in the history of this entire series. He had charisma and enigma as Tobi that made him extremely entertaining. Madara got stale about three chapters after he came back as Edo. Madara's coolest moment, bar his intro, was becoming the Juubi Jin, and a lot of people, even his fans, found that meh and underwhelming.

Agreed but Madara's best moment was when he was revived as a human. I don't know how anyone can deny that was bad ass.

I'm probably in the minority, but I'll say Obito, also because his Tobi persona is included here too. Tobi was the most manipulative person in the series and got things done quickly and efficiently. He had a back up plan for everything. Obito had a connection to the main characters through not only blood, but his actions and he basically set the Naruto plot in motion for most of what we saw. He genuinely wanted peace amidst all his delusions about it and not knowing the true inner workings of Mugen Tsukuyomi, but in the end he was redeemed perfectly in a good fashion. The people who say he started the war because of Rin and hold that against him are laughable and can't read into context. He's a much better character than Madara ever was.

People come up with the idea that a perfect villain has to be insanely powerful; false. A good villain is intelligent and crafty, what he lacks in power, is made up by coming up with ingenius schemes and plots. You can be impactful on a storyline, without overwhelming power or strength. Orochimaru is cunning, manipulative, sadistic, prideful, wise, and overall a very intellectual individual. He gave you a mysterious aura everytime he appeared, his character was never predictable.

He may be weak, but he still shits on Hinata with his hands tied by his snakes, remember that, catfish.

I'm not so sure about that. Naruto is too charismatic, and Obito had already established that he was an enemy.

It could have work if Obito had not started a club of criminals and posed as Madara. Just start an organization of full of supporters of the Moon's Eye Plan and use the hero status he got from Gaiden. Would have been more interesting than the story we got.

Obito was a great villain for Naruto to face because of they had so many similarities. The same can be said for Nagato/Yahiko. I had no problem with them getting talk no jutsu. Now Madara is the villain overall for everyone to face and he still stomps. So Obito a great villain for Naruto and Madara a strong villain for everyone to face.

Between the two I'd roll with Madara. Overall I might give it to Kabuto. The Kefka type villain is always interesting. He's around for the entire manga and is irrelavent in most of it. All of a sudden her turned a corner and is one of the superpowers that's manipulating multiple characters on every side of the war. I do downgrade him a bit for pulling a 180 and getting tnj'd though. I want my ultimate villain to die a villain.
