1) Mokuton is LIFE growing itself. Thats Yang bro. The Yin is what the Uchiha Clan has through the eyes. In other words, having a vast supply of "Yin" chakra isnt going to Improve a jutsu based in Yang chakra.
2) WTF imperfections did Hashirama ever have. Please cite the Manga.
HASHIRAMA HAS THE STRONGEST MOKUTON, his entire body had cells that were infused with Yang chakra. He was damn near life itself lol.
You have a case. When madara used Mokuton: Kajukai Korin, Tsunade commented firstly that, it was her grandfathers technique:

She then went on to say, what incredible scale, he created a forest in an instant;

This leads me to believe that, yes madara's mokouton ability is greater than hashirama's, has nothing to do with skill though but enhancements. Judging by Tsunade's reaction Hashirama couldnt produce the technique to such great scale but also couldnt produce it as quick as madara did. This leads me to belief that apart from the enhancements, madara's real enhancements is power more than skill. Similarly we saw nagato with the rennigan pull a little rock. Madara pulled 2 ****ing meteors in quick succession. Just like mokouton, it seems madara's enhancements has allowed him to use jutsu's on a much larger skill but also in quick successions.
So yes he is a more powerful mokotuon and rennigan user than hashirama and nagato because his jutsu's are on a greater skill and in quick succession. Note the word power though because there is a difference between that and skill. Im certain hashirama is still the more skilled mokotuon user, just like how nagato is the more skilled rennigan user

How is a Yin based Kekkei Genkai (sharigan) going to "improve" a yang based Kekkei Genkai (wood release)...?

First of all,I doubt 1st counters madara's fire with wood. He counters it with water. And he uses earth to counter his wind. I think he will also have so OP techs like Oro's triple rashimon.
About the moukuton, there is no manga indication of madara's being superior.
If you believe that no one can surpass Hashirama's Mokuton, is like believing that no 4th generation antibiotics can surpass the original Penicillin.
That analogy is completely wrong as yamato did not surpass hashirama.:sy: Hashirama naturally has life force, so his naturally vitality fuels his wood. Blood is thicker than water. That explains why kakashi cant use sharingan to the extent of an uchiha.
What you shd realise is 1st is the closest to s06p's life force. Madara has his cells. If madara's life force get better than hashi's, it will progress to s06p(just like his eyes did) Now no bs, can u tell me kishi has hinted madara's body = sage? If fire is stronger than wood why did it take Onoki's dust release to destroy the forest Madara created? Why couldn't Madara beat Hashirama in the valley? Wood is a KG, it can't be simply stopped by fire. I would also like to point out wood is a mix of water and Earth. These two can be used to suppress fire in their own way. Combining then together does not make it weaker.
Hashirama is more skilled with wood than Madara was. Madara's Rinnegan is the reason he could use wood technques in the first place. Don't believe me? Look at Danzo he had Hashirama's DNA in his arm but couldn't use any of the techniques Hashirama did. But with the Rinnegan Madara can, but that doesn't make it stronger than Hashirama's. It just gave him the ability to use it.
Don't be blind by your biased love for Madara. Every wood related technique Madara is doing, Hashirama can do it on a much larger scale.
