Gaara killed his mother coming out of her... he never had a family he was always referred to as a weapon if you remember that far... Gaara had it a little worst than sasuke because sasuke's life was spared by itachi... But people actually tried to kill gaara but failed because gaara defended himself with his own power

Gaara's dad didnt raise him so he doesnt count (his mothers sister who tried to kill him raised him) Gaara's mother died giving birth to gaara...Just recently we found out that it was his mothers chakra protecting him but she is dead physically so she doesnt count... Gaara would transform into shikaku to defend himself if you remember the anime.... therefore it was his own power

I have to say Sasuke, he had a normal childhood until the massacre took it all away, Naruto didn't grow up with a father or mother so he never experience the trauma of losing them. Sasuke did only to lose them to your own brother, and to be deceived for Sasuke to kill him and only find out that he was actually protecting him is very painful.

Gaara would come second since his family and village resented him but his uncle initially cared for him until Gaara's dad ordered him to try and kill little Gaara, so Gaara also felt the agony of supposed "betrayal" but he made a good working team with his siblings. But Sasuke, well the only sibling he had was Itachi and his whole childhood and teen years were fixated on taking vengeance on him only to find out that his big bro was protecting him the whole time. that's gotta hurt. So overall, when it comes to a rotten childhood, Sasuke takes the cake, so don't wonder why he is so emo all the time.

There are things worse than death, didn't Sasuke asked Edo Itachi why didn't he just kill him along with their mom and dad? he is implying that the life he is living now is worse than dying with his clan, living itself is hell for Sasuke, isn't it no wonder why Naruto and Gaara made peace with their pasts and Sasuke still hasn't?

And besides Itachi never intended for Sasuke to find out about his sacrifice, he wanted his death to be the resolution to Sasuke's pain and anger, but Obito had to step in and tell Sasuke the truth, the truth which Itachi correctly feared, would lead Sasuke to the greater depths of hatred and vengeance.

Nagato had Jiraiya for some years during their training, and he still had Konan until his death, Naruto had Iruka and had the Hokage to protect him from the villagers.

But Sasuke, the only thing he had was his bro whom he thought of killing and in the end realizing he truly loved him all this time, now that is super duper painful. Imagine if Sasuke actually landed the killing blow on Itachi, he would've lost his mind afterwards when he found out the truth.

Naruto had a few happy moments with the likes of shikamaru,choji,kiba etc,its not much but gaara had nothing
