Hard to say since we dont know much about madaras relationship with izuna, but in the end madara followed izunas words rather than trust hashirama and tobirama so I think that says it all.

Izuna - For being a brother, right hand man of Uchiha clan, and teammate.

Hashirama- For being best friend, only challenger to Madara, and god of shinobi.

Power wise respect, is Hashirama.
Love wise respect, is Izuna.

I don't think Madara has respect for anyone but himself. He might have had respect for Hashirama at one time but now that he beat him that's done with. You do not look to impose your will on people you respect. You only try to impose your will on everyone if you think they are beneath you.
