Considering they are in three man teams, I think these people are the "leaders" and not necessarily the most powerful, but most in charge. Aside from the Jounin teacher that is

Team Guy: Neji: he is the most talented and wise ninja in the group.

Team Kurenai: Kiba: He is the most arrogant in the group, but he possesses the strongest attack in the group and only listens to akamaru

Team Kakashi: Naruto: Even when Sasuke was in the team, Naruto still took charge. During the fight with Zabuza and later Orochimaru, Sasuke would be paralyzed in fear and it would be Naruto to call the shots and save them.

Team Asuma: Shikamaru: Because he is a boss, nuff said


So yeah, do you agree that these guys are mostly the leaders of the group besides the Jounins?

Shino on Kurenai's team IMO. And Sasuke -when on the team- was leader.

No I read you post which was inaccurate they are four man teams not three man, and as for Kakashi laying low I suppose you mean mot of the filler which don't contribute to the canonical source. But the times he was not leader of team in the canonical source Yamato took over as acting team leader.

Even thought naruto's perseverance was better than sasuke's. sasuke was the captain

naruto save kakashi ass in zabuza fight and sasuke and sasura ass in gaara fight

I think sasuke and shino beat naruto and kiba... honestly, Sasuke took charge and made out the plans, naruto just ended up saving everbody because he messed up the tatic and used the kyuubis chakra. Shinos the most serious, and smartest, Kiba does the same as naruto though.

During the chuunin exams, Sasuke showed he was the leader. Sasuke made all the strategies and the others followed it.

As for the other teams.

Team Gai: Neji
Team Kurenai: Kiba. Shino is stronger and smarter, but too silent and doesn't take charge.
Team Asuma: Shikamaru is the smartest, but Ino seems to take charge often as well. I'd say its 70/30 Shikamaru/Ino.
