both pain and madara have realatively weak partners... zetsu and konan are both below average in combat power i think. by akatsuki standards anyway. HOWEVER pain or madara alone would be able to defeat any akatsuki pair we have seen so far. that's a fact. so my vote goes for madara and zetsu or pain and konan.
