Who do you think has the best defence in the Narutoverse?

Title says it all. Who do you think has the best defense? imo, it's either Madara or Tobi. Madara coz he has Susanoo, Preta path AND Shinra Tensei. Not to mention Asura armor might also provide some protection from anything that gets past the above. As for Tobi, same as Madara except he has intangibility (arguably even better) instead of Susanoo.

intangibility is not a defence type i think, you can not compare with susano'o. But if you'll compare intangibility is better than Susano'o basicly, you just use it and nothing happens to you but with susano'o it has side effects to user+ consume more chakra. But Madara(Rinnegan) has best defence at all thanks for all paths in one body.

Susanoo is greater than any of Gaaras puny defences. Rinnegan users I guess have the best defence if you look at it that way.

Gaara's sand is probably the overall best. Unlike rotation it stays active, and unlike susanoo it doesn't take a huge toll on the user or weigh them down. Tobi's intangibility is also worth mention, but it only lasts 5 minutes with an unknown recharge time.

Tobi and Minato. Being able to dodge everything that someone throws at you is pretty much the best defence there is.

Now if you're talking about who has the best defence when it comes to tanking attacks then I'd have to go with Itachi/Sasuke(Suanoo) or the 3rd Raikage.

Madara, for the reasons you said, + the fact he has limitless chakra (thus he can spam all of those endlessly) AND the fact that he is an Edo tensei...

Tobi, on the other hand, has the 5 minutes rule, wich was proven to be a major vulnerability for someone who has knowlage over his ability...
