Who do think conveyed the manga Jiraiya better, his English or Japanese side? Why? This is about saying which side sucked but rather who you felt did it better. Both versions had actors doing what they could to bring the character justice.

I thought the dub because the voice David Lodge had was because since I felt it had that natural tough and pervy but wise voice.

Most people have a preference for subbed or dubbed. Obviously, their answer will be heavily influenced by that.

I can say the Japanese voice actor's version seemed to capture the wisdom and calmness of the character that would be expected of Jiraiya's age and experience. The only thing that broke through the calm was the character's only weakness: the female body
