madara was long dead before akatsuki was formed? his plan? No it wasn't. Madara's plan was for Mugen tsukuyomi. Obito decided to create akatsuki not madara.

Nagato uses 6 Paths of Pein until they are defeated. After that he can just come out and fight by himself.
