Who believes in the legend of Gary's Raticate?

In Red/Blue/Green Version you meet Gary in the Pokemon Tower in Lavender Town.
He talks to you, and starts a battle. If you notice, his Raticate is gone from his team.
After the battle he just leaves. Many believe he came to the Pokemon Tower to pay respect to his Raticate who must've died somehow.

Has anyone ever heard of this or even believe it?
I think it could be real, but I have doubt it actually is.

It's possible, I mean Pokemon was still in its early days when they didn't care much for deaths in video games.

So yeah, I think that's what the developers were hinting at.

And his name isn't 'Gary' it's 'Green/Blue' ~_~

So if the legend was called 'Ash's Raticate', you would name it that?

No but really, fans hate it when the game characters get called by their Anime names O_O
