Naruto:
1. Shikamaru: He makes every ninja fight in which he's present very intuitive, analytical, and with the least amount of power as possible to give maximum trolling to his enemies. He uses his environment as his advantage and adapts to its changes, not so much his personal abilities. That's what being a ninja is all about. He is the most "ninja" out of the ninjas in Naruto.
2. Jiraiya: I would want this guy as my third grandpa. While he's busy eyeing the Hooters or soaking in the Women's Only bathtubs at one moment, he would suddenly become the greatest sage and give you his wisdom the next. When there's a domestic terrorist about, he damned well knows how to make the fighting satisfying.
3. Sakura: Regardless of what anyone says, Sakura has a deep, broad personality that few other main characters can match. The rest of the Naruto characters are scissor-cut templates put on the shelves and manufactured for other plot releases. She gives the Naruto series LIFE with her comedic entrances and just happens to be present when something that pisses her off is released and takes the heat of the moment on whomever she thinks the culprit is the most, even when the instigator was not that person. I think back to that time when that exotic creature touched Sakura's breasts and she immediately thought Naruto did it and gave him a pounding. Comedy classic! With other times, she helps us contemplate emotion when something serious or dramatic happens. But though it all, she uses her past experiences to good use, puts on her serious face as a ninja, and shows everyone what she's made off--a red-hot taijutsu queen who knows how to be a Naruto character.
