What makes you guys think Amon is so strong? Sure he could blood bend and was good at dodging, but overall we didn't get to see any major water bending from him. The best we got was his water spout before he took off.

bloodbending is a subset of water bending. therefore its considered a water bending feat. his was so advanced/OP he did it w/o the full moon and it was sealing other benders' abilities. w/o the avatar they probably would have never recovered. so its a tight race between him and katara.

Why are people saying zaheer? He almost got low to mid diff'd by tenzen, just because he can fly doesn't make him the strongest, he's STILL not on Tenzin level, rewatch their fight, zaheer was catching a beat down, until his red lotus came.

But so could Yakone and Tarlok, so they must all be equal by your logic. As far as taking away peoples bending, that was just manipulating the blood in the brain to deactivate the 'bending muscle'(thats what I'm calling it anyway). Like chi blocking, it doesn't take away the bending it just disables it.

It disables it to the point where even the greatest healer in the world, Katara, could not fix it. (Aka, taking it away) The question being as is who are the top three benders of each elements, and with pure intent to kill. Amon is unaffected by Bloodbending as seen when he faced his brother. So he can easily defeat his brother (as seen) and his father who is about as strong as his brother. Amon was also able to manipulate bloodbanding, and waterbending without movement, do a degree able to affect incoming attacks so they will be easier to avoid. With the Pure Killing intent, against any other waterbended he is outmatched.
