Who are the best characters for 1v1 NUNSG

So, I used to play torm 2 alot. Recently some friends told me to pick up NUNSG to play it with them, so I did. Unlocked all characters and beat storymode, but I get destroyed online and playing against friends. They only play 1v1, so no assists.
I've practiced a lot and tried a lot of characters, but I can't seem to find the perfect one.
Can you guys name some good characters in singles? Thanks

my buddy uses tsuchikage and whenever i get close he toss a bunch of rocks which to avoid you need to use more than one sub or just take hits and sub the last and counter. verry annoying i dont always win. my fav chars are young neji cuz hes so fast you can land decent air combos with him and same with rock lee. sasuke is good obv. i like itachi although mobility is not his strength. the fourth is also one of my favs along with masked man. naruto is pretty op with the kyuubi mode chakra pretty fun. all about styles my friend depends what you like to do

Sasuke Taka Outfit..Chidori with Awakening Jutsu Amaterasu ..if you Spam Amaterasu blitz jump at him and he is over in no time.

You should try some good close range or taijutsu users like maybe Lee, Neji, Gai, Hidan(my personal favorite), KIba, Bee, etc. good luck dude.

I personally wouldn't listen to anybody's advice here, a majority of these are more or less spamming strategies to win.
But I say go for Choji, his combos are very short and his special is super effective. Hidan is a great 1v1 char. as well.

i agree spamming is lame, but tbh i dont think ive ever lost to choji or hidan online or offline, jus saying

They must have been terrible players then.
I've beaten numerous people countless times with them, and at one point kept rechallenging the same guy with Hidan, and he quit the game and sent me a message that said "too OP".

And I just thought, seriously? Hidan, Op? No, you're just a bad player.
