And here in Naruto verse, I think Tobirama as example able to identified Chakra present OK, but when opponents is moving in speed, superior hearing is a must, because sensing a chakra present is not enough if Tobirama don't know where is his opponent position.

Tobirama is one of the best sensors in NV.

He sensed the exact location of those bounty hunters, their ninja rank and specific unit. And he did also track Hashirama as a child with his sensory ability.
