[Discussion] WhiteBeard vs Garp

Noting that Garp has displayed the superior Haki thus far, and that they both seem like tanks.

Who would win and by how much difficulty?

I really wanna know by how much difficulty the fight would take.


Scenario: This is at the marineford battle, and as soon as whitebeard step into the war himself, Garp comes down to challenge him 1on1.

No one interferes!!!

Er no. Both Sakazuki and Kizaru were able to put up decent fights against Whitebeard. Both were able to critically injure him and stop his movement with one leg.

I understand you thinking this, but I disagre.

I think Garp is stronger than all the admirals during the marineford. Dont forget that Old rayleigh was able to compete with Kizaru even after not competeing for years. Old garp in my opinion is way stronger than Old rayliegh, which would lead me to believe he is also stronger than Kizaru and Akainu.

I really dont think this was just a hype filled statement. Im sure Garp was sure he could kill him:

cant say which nothing has been shown in regards to what garp is capable of except maybe the chinjao clash which ended in one punch

Schooled him? No, no, no. Whitebeard snuck up on Akainu, and broke the ground, causing him to fall. Let's look at the results of that confrontation:

1. Whitebeard lost half of his face, and was pushed closer to his deathbed.
2. Akainu still had enough strength to fend off Whitebeard's commanders, Ivankov, fleets of pirates, Crocodile and Jinbei all at once. Akainu still had the strength to push through Marineford and low-diff Jinbei. The amount of damage Akainu got from Whitebeard is far lower than you think.

No he wasn't. Rayleigh was slowing down and slowly losing his edge, while Kizaru wasn't even stressed or strained. Kizaru had a clear upper hand in that fight.

Garp being confident that he can kill Akainu means nothing. Ace was confident he would kill Teach. Enel was confident he'd take out Luffy. Rob Lucci was confident that he'd send the entire Strawhat crew to hell. If I link those pages, have I provided proof that they're right?

WB wil win without much difficulty. Garp doesn't have the resolve to stop WB from saving his grandson. However, if both have equally strong resolves, I'd say Garp. It would be a long and hard battle and WB's seizures would kick in, leaving him vulnerable.

1. Exactly my point if Whitebeard wasnt injured before hand Akainu couldve never take off half his face he would push Whitebeard yes only because Whitebeard had heart problems.

2. Whitebeard did school him U_U Whitebeard only punched akainu 3 or 4 times in the fight while akainu was giving it his all and after whitebeard delivered the island busting punch to Akainus ribs he fell down in the ground hurt and in pain shouting "Shirohigeee"!!!! and couldnt fight back while whitebeard was just standing over him while hes on the ground why didnt he get up straight after he had recieved the blow???? exactly schooled . Akainu was initially meant to die at Marineford Oda just gave him plot shield to make things more interesting for the story.
