We walked back to the village, it was already 6 and when we got there, everyone was heading home or already asleep.
We walked through the streets; it was rather dark for a peaceful village, only few lamp posts can be seen, it was already late, only 30 more min. and I leave the place better get there fast ?Sera, where do you live?? I asked her, wanting to take her home first ?near your granny?s house? she said looking fidgety, ?oh? then we?re gonna be together longer? I said smiling.
But then Sera stopped and I almost bumped into her, I looked her way to see what?s wrong; she was looking rather pale like she saw a ghost.
I saw a gang loitering near a lamp post; they looked scary and dangerous but what caught my eyes were the weapons they held by their hands.
?Sera, is there another way to get home?? I asked her, it could cost us our lives if we go pass them ?no?? she said in a hoarse tone, I guess these guys are dangerous.
It was getting darker and I think those gang already know where we were, only waiting for us to pass by, if we don?t hurry it?ll get even darker ?Sera I want you to run as fast as you can when I say so, just run home, don?t mind me, I?ll try to lose them when they chase me?
It wasn?t a good idea, I know, but what else can we do? I held her hand, walking slowly trying not to get scared, she was terrified and she didn?t like the idea, but that way she can be safe.
I hurried my paced when we almost got near them ?hey, where would two girls like you going?? one of them said; they were 4 or more I didn?t care how many they were I just want to get out of here quickly.
I held her hand tighter than before ?come on? I whispered as we continued walking ignoring them. 2 guys went in front of us ?hey what?s the rush?? ?Come on, lets have some fun? they said trying to block our way.
I tried to walk pass them with Sera still by my side; now trembling, I didn?t want to get caught so I tried to keep my distance but one grabbed hold on my wrist.
?RUN? I shouted as I pushed Sera?s hand away, she didn?t bother to look at me as she dashed off; that made these dumb old geezers distracted so I took the chance to run myself, I bit the hand holding me then ran in the other direction.
Good thing I was fast or they would have caught me as I passed them, but still it was useless, I could hear their footsteps behind me and it was getting darker than ever.
I don?t know where to go and I think I might have gotten lost, maybe I shouldn?t have split with her, well nothing good would happen if I regret things now so I went in this alleyway and hid behind a trash bin for a while until I heard their steps passing.
I thought I was gonna be a goner, I didn?t even think I would make it; I sat for as long as I could count, I don?t know the time and it was getting colder.
It was safe now, I couldn?t hear them anymore but thinking about Sera just makes me worry more than myself; I ducked my head between my knees, I just wish bro would come save me.
I didn?t noticed but someone was standing in front of me, looking at me so intently ?Elli?? I heard someone say, it startled me a little but I still looked up.
It was bro, he did came to save me, I stood up then hugged him, I was so scared, I was all alone and I just couldn?t think straight, ?there, there? he said patting my head so gently.
It was so comforting and nice, I didn?t want to let go anymore, but reluctantly I did, he handed me a handkerchief; I was crying my heart out.
Now rain poured down little by little, I could feel time passing ever so slowly, it was like time stopped just for me; we got back to granny?s house a while back, it was just a few blocks away from where I was.
I sat near the fireplace and drank hot choco that granny made me ?how did you find me?? I remembered asking bro as he sat beside me; he really didn?t answer, guess he just searched every single place there is; I felt guilty about that though.
It was now late 10 pm in the night, we were 1 hour late from our timed departure but it was still okay; bro was already sleeping next to me while I was staring out the window again looking at the little raindrops falling unto the windshield.
Mom and Dad didn?t really care I guess; when we got home I was really tired, I woke bro up before getting off the car, he seemed grouchy, well who wouldn?t be being woken up late at night.
We went straight to bed and as soon as I lied down unto my bed I fell asleep. I woke up 6 in the morning the day after and it was still raining.
I stood up, stretched then fixed myself up, my eyes were kind of red, and I?m sure it?s the lack of sleep; sloppily walking around my room I tried to dress up fast.
My room was getting pretty old in style; maybe I should change it a bit, like adding a few flowers and figurines, I then went down still feeling the need to sleep.
When I got to the kitchen they were all there, well except for dad but still mom there? And also cooking?! ?Sis, what took you so long?? bro asked me ?oh, huh, nothing much? I said wide awake now still not believing what I?m seeing.
I took my seat in front of bro then mom placed my breakfast on the table, ?there you go dear, eggs and bacon? I just stared at my food though.
