So I read here and there on Wiki. Check some examples of White/Black Metal. I know that Black Metal exist a long ago, but I didn't know there is White Metal (which also known as Christian Metal like Skillet rock band). Yeah, there are Many Black Metal rock bands to name. Anyway, Black Metal lyrics attack religions and use violent words, while White Metal do the opposite that their lyrics contain message of goodness etc. That's my understanding of both type of Heavy Metal.

However, some Heavy Metal songs when you listen to their lyrics, you might wonder if the songs are Black or White Metal. PROBABLY I might make up a type. Gray Metal... maybe?... No?... It can't be Gray? Does it have to be either white or black? Well, two songs and the funny part they are soundtracks of a video game series, Devil May Cry. DMC3 "Devils Never Cry" and DMC4 "The Time Has Come". ... These two songs if I'm right, they contain two ideas, violence and justice. The two lyrics probably on purpose were made that way to portrait the main character that he follows no good nor evil. He just does his own justice, regardless of the fate of humanity.

Are they Black Metal?

Anyway, here are the two lyrics.
Devil May Cry 3
Devils Never Cry [ ]
Devil May Cry 4
The Time Has Come [ ]
Steel a soul for a second chance
But you will never become a man

My chosen torture makes me stronger
In a life that craves the hunger
A Freedom and a quest for life
Until the end the judgment night

Bless me with your gift of lights
Righteous cause on judgment nights
Feel the sorrow the light has swallowed
Feel the freedom like no tomorrow

Stepping forth a cure for soul's demise
Reap the tears of the victims cries
Yearning more to hear the suffer (of a)
Of a demon as I put it under

Killed before, a time to kill them all
Passed down the righteous law
Serve a justice that dwells in me
Lifeless corpse as far as the eye can see

The eye can see
The eye can see
The eye can see
The eye can see
The eye can see

(Clean Voice)

Bless me with the
Leaf off of the tree
On it I see
The freedom reign

We are falling
The light is calling
Tears inside me
Calm me down

Midnight calling
Mist of resolving
Crown me, with the
Pure green leaf

Praise to my father
Blessed by the water
Black night, dark sky
The devils cry
The time has come, and so have I
I'll laugh last 'cause you came to die
The damage done, the pain subsides
And I can see the fear, clear, when I look in your eye.

I'll never kneel and I'll never rest,
You can tear the heart from my chest
I'll make you see what I do best,
I'll succeed as you breathe your very last breath.

Now I know how the angel fell
I know the tale, and I know it too well
I'll make you wish you had a soul to sell,
When I strike you down and send you straight to Hell.

My army comes from deep within
Beneath my soul, beneath my skin
As you are ending, I'm about to begin,
My strength is pain, and I will never give in.

I'll tell you now, I'm the one to survive,
You'll never break my fate or my stride
I'll have you choke on your own demise,
I make the angel scream, and the devil cry.

I don't understand the video game references. Black Metal was initially coined from the Venom song, Black Metal, back in the early 1980s. The genre mixed elements of thrash with death metal initially, but evolved into its own distinct style. In the British scene it utilized a lot of gothic themes, whereas in Scandinavia it adopted more Satanic elements. Today you have multiple subgenres, each with different lyrical themes (i.e., Atmospheric Black Metal, Blackened Death, Progressive Black Metal, Symphony Black Metal, Folk Metal, Viking Metal, Depressive Suicidal Black Metal, etc). Common lyrical themes you hear a lot in black metal include Satanism, pagan culture, existentialism, vampirism, depression, isolation, and self-empowerment.

White metal bands like Antestor (who actually had Hellhammer from Mayhem drum for them) started in early 1990s. Like all Christian music, it simply adopts the instrumental style of a genre, but utilizes worship/praise lyrical themes.

I never call it white metal. Just Christian Heavy Metal is all it is.
And most of the Black metal bands I frequent are from Scandinavia. Heh

I listen to black and christian equally.
I am not a religious person, I just find the messages within them interesting.

There ain't no such thing as "white metal". The genre you are referring to is called "unblack metal" which is pretty much like black metal with blast beat, extremely distorted guitars, scream vocals and so forth, which is also recorded in low quality (just like black metal) but has Christian and often anti-satanist lyrics.

^ Unblack metal and white metal are different sides of the same coin.

White is purely christian message and lyrics and unblack is satanic imagery with christian lyrics.
They aren't the same thing...

if White metal doesn't exist. Neither then does black, viking metal, or even goregrind. meh

I admit my defeat. I'm not much into pure black or unblack metal, they both are too chaotic for my liking. However I consider myself a fan of some melodic black metal bands like Sworn or Cryptic Wintermoon, other than pagan or symphonic black metal bands such as Welicoruss or Summoning

I've been into the traditional black metal bands for a number of years now.
As with all music. Each has its certain fanbase.

Some good christian metal is old underoath and august burns red.
I listen to them, as frequent as watain or naglfar.
