hmmm .... so your not sure how big konoha is ..... btw there is nothing that can tell us how big is konoha. aside from your 20 km calculation, what they call villages in this series is way bigger than what we know as villages in real life (a LOT bigger). so we can't really tell ....specially when you talk about konoha (witch looks really big)

There is: population. United army of shinobi alliance had 100k man. In our world that would be small army of single country. Less people = smaller towns and cities, and like I said, 20 KM is size of big city from our world. Konoha is obviously way smaller.
