My order goes like this.

1.Brook (this was an easy one for me because while Robin and Nami had traumatizing childhoods, Brook had a sad death and an EXTREMELY lonely life. His connection to Laboon was great to me and to see the way him and his crewmates died while recording that 'yo-ho-ho-ho' song for Laboon was so sad. And his life on that ship was Naruto and Gaara x100. He had nothing but a steerless ship full of his friend's corpses and the painful memories and nightmares of his past for 50 staright years. That recording is the only thing that kept him sane..so yeah dem feels doe.

2.Robin
3.Nami
4.Chopper
5.Sanji
6.Franky
7.Luffy
8.Zoro
9.Ussop (his backstory was such a snoozefest)

Between Robin and Nami
Yeah I always thought that too until I watched Brook's story for the first time. Yo I almost cried when he singing with his crew and they were dropping dead one by one, he began to cry as he played the piano..and when he first heard that Laboon was still waiting for him and he managed to cry even though he didn't have any eyes, showed to how much his promise meant to him.

Btw you should vote =D

1. Nico Robin-no doubt.
2. Sanji
3. Nami
4. Chopper
5. Brook
I got them feels more when Sanji cried and said goodbye to his teacher but overall I have to disagree with you that Sanji's was more sad than Nami's. But we're all entitled to our opinion so I ain't mad =D lol

btw place your vote for Robin if you dont mind =D

Man, when her mother sacrificed herself after nami telling her they weren't family, joining Arlongs crew, the whole village loving her so much they are willing to sacrifice themselves, the stabs, when Luffy destroyed that room. I won't lie and say I didn't tear up some

While I find it sad losing your crew slowly is easily sad, but I guess as an individual I handel loneliness better than many.

Here's why I'd say Robin...

1. Grows up with no parents basically.

2. Treated like a maid basically a slave by her aunt. Not considered family.

3. Children pick on her.

4. The Scholars are nice, but they exclude her.

5. She finally finds a real friend AND her mother, then EVERYONE she knew dies. Her mom, Saul, the scholars, her mother.

6. Spends the next 20 years being hated by the world and pursued for doing nothing wrong.

I find it worse have someone by you that hates your existence than to have no one at all. Just me.

but yeah Brook is 2/3. I just find Chooper in kind of the same boat as Robin. Hated by humans and deer. Then he actually ends up poisoning his "father" figure. Difference is he had the old lady.

The rest we pretty much agreed on.

Yeah I remember I clapped when Luffy began to destroy that room, but I found Nami annoying at the time so I didn't appreciate it like I do now. Now Nami's awesome to me...Ussop and Chopper are the only two strawhats that I'm not fond of.

If I may ask, how was Brook's similar to the others? If anything his was the most different.

Sanji's backstory includes his story when he almost starved to the death on that rock with zeff, to stay on a stone for a month like that certainly a sad backstory for me, and it was actually one of the first backstories revealed in the manga/anime so it certainly appealed me. Nami's was sad too, I cried, when Arlong killed bellmere. So it was tough to decide between these two.:p

Yeah I Robin's was definitely touching, especially the timing of when they showed her flashback, it made it that much more sad. The 50 years of lonliness is the only reason it was an easy decision for me. 50 years is a REALLY long time to be alone. I'm only 21, and I couldn't even imagine what it would be like to live stranded on a boat until I'm 71. I would probably go insane..

But then I think about how Nami had to sacrifice her morals and work with the man who killed her mom and destroyed her life and it makes my opinion more complicated.

Between Brook, Robin and Nami, I constantly switching between the 3. But as of right now, I'm currently with Brook.

Definitely man, Zoro is my favorite character in the entire series (I really love his loyalty and respect for Luffy as a friend and captain respectively) but his backstory was VERY meh. Sanji's was the first to appeal to me too. It was so hard for me to hold back them tears when that old man starved himself for Sanji and when Sanji said goodbye to everyone. When I see characters like Zoro, Sanji, and Robin cry it affects me more than others such as Chopper, Nami, Ussop and Franky whom cry on a pretty regular basis.

Yeah I always forget about that part with Nami... She should be above Chopper I suppose.

And yeah... The only other thing I think about with Robin is the fact that had she not run into the Straw Hats (and not been Crocodile'd) she'd have potentially been doing this routine for her entire life which I'd have found worse.

But Brook... He's right there I agree.

oh sorry
i guess i cant include brook since i dont really know his backstory
i skipped through most of it
i assume his backstory is he died and since he has his devil fruit so he came back to life but got seperated from his body, and after years he finds it but it has deteriorated to only bones and the rest of his crewmates died and he was alone for some years, and he could never fulfill his promise of returning to laboon
i think thats the bulk of it
i just think their backstories are very similar. its a lot of the same stuff
they lose someone or some people that they were very close to and its very sad and all that and theres "the man"who is too much for anyone to stand up to him and then theres someone they're close to does something astounding or "unexpected" in terms of sacrificing themselves
and its a big sad story or hardships
