I like Naruto and has nothing against him,he would still have main role tho,but show would more about Uchiha and Hyuga, Neji(Byakugan,Tenseigan) Vs Sasuke(Sharingan,Rinnegan), Hamura Vs Hogoromo not Indra Vs Ashura.... Neji and Sasuke would Be main Rivals and Naruto's role would be to solve their problems which started from Hamura and Hago era... Hinata obviously.
For one thing, this would take away the excuse of NH being forced.
The Byakugan would receive more panel time and focus.
She isn't hated.(Well besides Sakura faps of course.)
She has potential to keep up to a certain degree with Naruto and Sasuke.
More development, which is always a good thing.

Luckily Shikamaru IS essentially a main character, having much more exposure and development than Sakura Haruno or Kakashi Hatake but Ino and Chouji should've had more obvious exposure also. They were incredibly developed secondary characters.

Failing that, Iruka, Tenten and Neji always needed more love. Tenten or Hinata as female lead would've been good for story reasons.

Taijutsu master Rock lee.. It would've been way more shinobi with shinobi usin ninjitsu than a bunch of dual monsters.. Even the Hyuuga were more shinobi in that aspect..

I mean it only makes perfect sense.
More development for Hinata as well as NH itself.
Someone with tons of potential who can actually be useful in battle while easily excelling in Medical nin thanks to her Dojutsu and CC.
More time to focus on Hyuga's.
And finally her involvement with Kaguya would make much more sense than Sakura, considering they both have the Byakugan and Hinata is from Hamura's line.
