Action, Harem, Fighting, Adventuare and such things = Anime
Because more of these scenes gets "better" in anime because the 'important' scenes are being played up by more frames than the manga of course can give you.

You're best off with the anime at first for the first few episodes and then go on to the manga. This is because some of the translations on a manga aren't that great at the beginning and can be difficult to understand.

If you skip the fillers then it honestly will not take long to catch up.

Atleast watch one filler Arc (last filler Arc E317-E347) with that guy who could manipulate Space & Time with his bankai. That one was pretty good since it does happen around the times of the previous Arc instead of a makeup filler that doesn't hint to canon material.
