You brought up Sakura and Sarada's CES, a ninjutsu also used by Tsunade to shatter the Earth and dent hard surfaces. While saying Naruto's knockout punch (which is not a ninjutsu or amped by the Kyubi against Neji) wasn't impressive.
I was poking fun at the disconnect an comparison. Both Naruto and Sarada can close fights with punches. However, CES can break the Earth, but it can't break bone.
I don't remember it but even if he did, up to which gate can he use now. Remember Neji from the chunnin exam arc wasn't even worried after seeing Lee's gates. So if its anything less than the 5th gate then Metal Lee loses for certain.

You can't really use Naruto as an example to prove Neji's prowess. Naruto wasn't that skilled at thaijutsu or Shuriken, Kunai skills, neither does he have analytical ability.

Not really so, Neji under estimated Naruto. And Gaara was more emo driven Naruto relied on 9 tails chakra. None of that proves Nejis prowess which is relevant to the topic at hand.

It’s true though, everyone’s hyping the unknown, we don’t even know his time limit. Plus not a single one of the new kids has shown anything that would make me think they’d even be safe in a fight with someone like neji, ce gaara, or unweighted lee for that matter

In the anime Mitsuki showed full control over the activation of his Sm against Jonin Shino. Its also hinted he used Sm for the whole duration of the fight which means SM Mitsuki operates on a higher level , physically than a high chunin level ninja like Neji. But Mitsuki showed no such control in the Manga against Ao.
SM Misuki showed he can easily bypass chakra barriers by watever means. Dont know if this translates into things like Kaiten/Susano'o but if not , Mitsuki has ntn to penetrate Neji's chakra dome shield or Kaiten , snake lightning can potentially be blocked by either defenses. If SM mitsuki can blitz Neji's mental reaction to the point where he outpaces his Chakra expulsion then he wins. If not then Mitsuki would likely blitz Neji's physical reaction but run into a Chakra dome shield followed by a simultaneous body-blow using that same Chakra.
Shikadai also stands a chance. Perfect counter to Neji's fighting style with his massive shadow. Only thing is we dont know how long he can hold his shadow bind and when he catches Neji , what would he do to finish him? If he tosses a kunai Neji's body would do the same while Neji can emit Chakra as a defense to stomp it. Shikadai has no feats of neck bind and if he tries to kill Neji at close range he gets blasted by a 5m ranged Body-blow by surprise.
Also the reason Boruto got caught was due to Shikadai being able to easily keep up with him , able to counter and fend him off in Taijutsu at the start. I see zero reason why Shikadai should have faster body-speed than someone like CE1 Sasuke , who even with 2T added reflex couldn't keep up with weighted Lee's taijutsu. Sasuke's sharingan easily percived Lee's movements but Lee was so fast Sasuke himslef couldn't so much as mentally follow what his sharingan perceived , same Sasuke who avoided Haku , im pretty sure shikadai or kid shikamaru would have the same problems keeping up with weighted Lee as 2T Sasuke same as 1T Sarada. If they should have problems keeping up with weighted lee then what about unweighted Lee amped by the 1st Gate who even Kimimaro found impressive fresh from surgery?

Prelims Neji being able to keep up with and defeat unweighted Lee amped by the 1st Gate means that his own body movement speed shouldn't be that much slower than a unweighted Lee. Neji's highspeed perception in the heat of battle shocked Kakashi and Lee needed combat speed beyond 1st Gate to overcome prelim Neji in straight hand to hand. This is end of p1 so Neji's speed is much greater the prelims so im pretty sure the only one who stand a real chance is SM Mitsuki.

Mitsuki with Sage Mode as everyone answered, but other than that I'd say Boruto with the Kotex's aid and possible Shank could pull it off, for whatever's worth.
