Which naruto character had the worst childhood?

id say itachi, even tho sasuke saw the worst night ever in his life. id still say itachi i mean he killed his family with his own hands, seeing his friend shisui died and giving his eye, that's just creepy. and and, having a deseas and wanting to die but you still bare it because you want your brother to be the one killing you so he could go back to the village thats just wat i think strong really means.

Naruto. He was absolutely alone almost all his childhood. I don't think anything compares to that.

I do not like comparing the pain people got through; "this one had the worst" is just not a right thing to say because emotional pain is bad no matter which shape it comes in, it can not be measured(of course losing a parent is more painful than being teased becase of the forehead size; but you got my point)...
Kakashi, Naruto, Sasuke, Neji, Lee, Madara, Tobirama, Hashirama, Gaara, Kimimaro, Haku, Sasori, Konan, Yahiko, Nagato, Killer Bee, Kimimaro and others i can not remember had it bad.

Sasuke had his whole clan (family and friends, basically his life) destroyed by the 1 person who was supposed to be there for him. Not only that, but his brother made him relive the events over and over again into his head until he collapsed (confirmed psychological trauma)...Nobody has had it worse than sasuke. Others may have suffered more, but that in no way means they suffered the worst.

Obito- Had life full of failures and then , just when It's gets better he get half his body crushed, eye ripped off while living (great pain) and than being in darkness waiting for your death which doesn't come and you being abducted (and saved) to a creepy cave with creepy black & white creatures by an old creepy men (and then finds out you gave away one eye for nothing) who manipulates you and makes you be dark and hateful for the rest of your life.

Gaara- everyone hates you and cant get near you, except for one uncle but then he tries to kill you. Unlike sasuke he has never been loved until recently .

Nagato- just like all amega orphans only he was more gentle and sensitive and in some point in his life someone abducted him, ripped his eyes off and transplant a new weird one (I like the design of the rinnegan but he's just a child). He really knows pain

Naruto, gaara, nagato...itachi had a VERY tough life but not exactly the worst childhood U_U

Itachi had it the worst, people forget he was only 13 when all the shit happened to him.

Sure watching people that are close to you die is a really bad thing, but being forced to kill them yourself is just so much worse. Then he had to put the person he loved the most through hell just so he would survive, and became the villain and took all the hatred to everything he wanted to protect.

gaara!! he was truly alone and for longer time... naruto didnt have a father that wanted to kill him and he gained friends at younger age then gaara...

in addition the ppl in gaara's villaage abused gaara more then naruto was abused...

Gaara - Nagato - Naruto

Sasuke doesn't even come close, giving that he has a mother and father that cared about him for the most part of his childhood. He at least had someone that cared and loved him, he still has family (Itachi) that never stopped caring for him, and died protecting him.

Naruto grew up not having anyone, wondering why the village called him a freak. Naruto had the live alone, watching his class mates holding hands with their mother, wondering why he didn't have a mother to care for him.

His only family was Iruka. Naruto spend his childhood and even up to this day, fighting so that people would acknowledge him and show them that he isn't the freak and weakling that everyone said and thought he was.

The rest are just as bad... Sasuke knew that Itachi killed his mother, wither as gaara was made to believe that he was the cause. Nagato also had to watch his mother get slaughtered.

I would also like to add in Kakashi. His mother died at a very young age, his father committed suicide, his best friend died. He wasn't able to protect the promise he made to his dieing friend. His sensei died. I believe he stated all his family and friends died also!

1. Senju/Uchiha Youth - The young Senju & Uchiha who had to fight, kill and die at a young age
2. Gaara - All alone, almost assassinated by uncle on orders of father and told mother never loved him
3. Kakashi - Had father commit suicide and abandon him, had team mate die on first mission and killed other one for unknown reasons, plus had to see his sensei sacrifice himself
4. Itachi - Forced to kill his clan and live life as an outcast
5. Nagato - Had his parents killed in front of his eyes, had best friend killed by his own hand
6. Naruto - Had his parents killed at birth and shunned for the rest of his life
7. Neji - Had his father sacrificed to save the main family, whom he had to continue serving
8. Sasuke - Had his family slain and left alone for life

Others:
Orochimaru/Sasori - Had family killed when young
Nawaki - Killed when young
Kushina - Taken away from her family to be used as a tool
Other Jinchuuriki - Similar reasons to Naruto

Note how Obito does not feature on the list. His life was sad, but not on the same scale as this.
