Its not the style thats effective. Its the person who wields them..

True but realistically unless youre going to start a MA as a little kid and do it for decades, youre better off doing one thats likely to be more useful for self defense. I did Taekwondo for several years (before switching to MT), for example, its practically useless in actual combat.

Jiujitsu.

And what the hell is ninjutsu? o_O

Ninjutsu is a precision stealth martial art created during Japans fuedal era to fight Samurais(who are also trained in Jujitsu and Aikido). Basiclly the anti-jujitsu martial art.

Brazilian jujitsu

A combination of many styles. good one.

Wing Chun no doubt - China or USA

Made famous by Bruce Lee

Muay Thai

Strong regular fighting style

The original version Muay Boran was once called the strongest of all time because of the Ancient Thailand army.

If you could instantly learn it and visit its place of origin, which martial art would you choose?

Karate-America
Shotokan Karate-Japan
Boxing-Great Britian
Muay Thai-Thailand
Piguaquan-China
Bajiquan-China
Taichiquan-China
Xingyiquan-China
Baguazang-China
Jeet Kun Do-America
Pencak Silat-Indonesia
Kalarippayattu-India
Lucha Libre-Mexico
Jujitsu-Japan
Aikido-Japan
Koppou-Japan
Combat Sambo-Russia
Savate-France
Military Combat-Sweden
Taekwondo-Korea
Capoeira-Brazil/Portgual
Ninjutsu-Japan
Brazilian Juit-jutsu-Brazil
Krav Maga-Forgot but its eastern

There are more combat styles circulating around the globe for instance check out the list of all Chinese combat styles:

On thread:
I would choose Wing Chun, Jeet Kune Do or Muay Thai
Since you add ninjutsu you can add CQC (Close Quater Combat) from Metal gear Lol :D

China has too many styles. I know most of them but others dont so its not on the list.

Thats because most TKD fighters are too flashly and predictable. Its weakness is close quaters which is how all fights are. They also stick too close to the book like its a tournament match instead of a street fight.

i wonder if it is still practiced??? or is this an ancient art?

Its still practiced but just barely since its banned from competition for being too deadly. I learned it a few years ago.

That is awesome, but i would have to say either Jeet Kun Do(anything Bruce lee related is awesome) or Krave Magra simply bc it teaches you how to just survive against any strike and retaliate according to what force you need to use.

There are different margins of error associated with the different styles. The most effective martial art is employed by the military and engaging in hand to hand would be seen as failure, so what do you want to gain from the art? How much time do you have to practice it? What timeframe are you looking at to become proficient and to what degree are you planning to learn it. Are you looking to learn a lot of styles?
