I agree with this graphic.

Villains with no true goals/only killing cause they like it are okay if they're not the final villain, but otherwise...

at least with oro type of villains, they cant be TNJ
but i agree anyways

Villains with no purpose.
ex. OROCHIMARU

Or

Villains whos intentions are good but they go the wrong way about doing it.
ex. Nagato

I don't know if these good purpose villains are only in Naruto cause I don't watch or read any other Anime or Manga.

Didn't Nagato get soloed by a book? :|

I like the insane/psychopathic and twisted kind of villains who have their own ideologies/goals and stick to them no matter what. I like it when they don't lose their cool easily and can manipulate the protagonists. So... In a way, they both somewhat fit this.

I honestly really like both types if they are written properlly.

Both The Joker (one of my favorite comicbook villains of all time) in his chaotic and purposely aimless crimes and someone like Nagato (my favorite Naruto character of all times) in his misguided actions with the best of the world in his mind.

Nagato. But it doesn't really matter as long as they keep me pumped.

Personally I like the elder god teir.

Basically, I tend to like-character wise in general, a character with a hint of darkness. Maybe inner demons, rough past, etc. But who also have a good side to them, or a side that can make them somewhat sympathetic. Villains, protagonists, heroes, or anti-heroes or villains, usually had morality pets that showed their less heartless sides, or an admirable or understandable goal.

I like KinGin. They weren't around long, and didn't do much. But they had good potential, room for a few good headcanons. And while they're ruthless and seen as lowdown criminals, I am a sucker for their relationship as brothers. Probably the closes ones in the manga. And they may have only become "evil" after gaining Kurama's chakra, which may have influenced/corrupted them. That's my headcanon anyway, along with them being released after the war.

Then-while not a in-series example, my favorite character in D.Gray-Man is Cross.
Certainly a man with flaws, darkness and possible mental issues-looking at his room in HQ, but not totally heartless-has shown to care for Allen, his girlfriends, and seems to be trying to save humanity.

But, every now and then, I may like a villain that is totally evil perhaps, may be debatable. I liked Orochimaru given his sense of humor, but-despite the retcon, I liked better where the anime tried to make him more sympathetic, where he started off with good intentions, and slowly got more selfish + corrupt later. I prefer that. But may not be what Kishi intended.

The chart seems pretty good. I don't care for flat villains who are evil just because, or were born crazy.

between the 2, i prefer . While i like villains who act out of sheer brutality and whatnot, i always gravitate closer to villains whose purpose is to benefit others than just themselves in the greater scheme of things. They seem intellectually more sound than villains whose sole purpose is just to do things for shock value, and i love to appreciate a villain's intellect and beliefs as well as their actions.
