if ur talking about the regular hidden lotus then gentle fist is better since it's faster... but if ur talking about the true hidden lotus, the one he used on garaa, then that's better by a long shot

WEll yea i ment tha tru 1
but tha hidden lotas has a pretty bad side effect(death)...and tha GEntle fist just take a bunch on chakra....*thinks about wen neji fought tha spider dude*

the side effect was only death because of the gates which lee couldn't control... now that he can control them then there is no side effect... the side effect didn't come from the attack, it came from the gates

but you need to have the gates open to inflict maximum damage and to retain the speed and power its needs to be a worth while jutsu instead of a meaningless one which just gets you hurt but at any rate as an actual taijutsu gentle fist is better more acutate and not foolish in the slightest... where as the hidden lotus inflicts loads of damage on yourself and unless you are willing to risk your life its not going to happen
