For an issue like this I have a little method. Flip a coin. If it's heads, you choose the first girl. If tails, the second. Once the coin is in the air, you will know which girl you really want to be with.

By fun do you mean free-spirited, nice, cool, calm kind, or like a goes to a party and gets wasted type. If it is the first go with her. The intelligent one makes a solid back up

If you're not looking for a relationship, go for the easy one. No chance it lasts and you can have "fun". But if you're looking for a relationship, the intelligent one will always win out for me. Her problems will be real and for me, intelligence wins out almost over anything when it comes to judging who I want to be in a relationship with.

Also, you can add on to your example/method. Flip the coin with the assigned choices. Your reaction to what you get will dictate what you were actually hoping for (so if you got the one on tails but are slightly dismayed by it, you knew you were going towards the other choice and it basically makes the choice for you).
