Depends, are you looking for fun or a relationship? The one you have fun with wont last and will likely end badly, its a superficial attraction, a superficial feeling and therefore a superficial relationship, if that is what you are looking for, then there is your bulls eye. But beware, those types of relationships usually end badly.

If you are looking for something long lasting and meaningful, go with the other girl, you have an emotional bond with her, the relationship will be built on a foundation and if it goes belly up you are more likely to stay friends or at least friendly.

It is possible that this fun girl who plays around appeals to you because you prefer the other girl but are afraid of being tied down and so are drawn to someone you know it isn't going to last with.

Nanana made a good point about establishing a longer term relationship with the intellectual girl. Whether you are with her the whole time or not, you may touch base with a her a year or many years later and find a new level of relationship waiting. Truth is, some girls need a long time to determine who they want to be with and that doesn't always require being intimately involved.

If you are referring to classmates, the student body is likely to know of your relationship, so I'd pick the smart girl. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend to pick one, rather date both on and off. Again, if you are in high school specifically, people would know you're double dipping and that's a no-no. But in normal adult life outside of high school, its not uncommon to date 2 people on and off at one time.
