[Discussion] Which do you prefer?

Do you prefer the anime or the manga?

Personally, after re-reading onepiece (up too FI arc) I definitely prefer reading the manga overall, due to I find it easy, more raw and it's further ahead in the story... However, I think the anime does more than justice for key moments in the manga, for example:

- Luffy hitting the tenryuubito, (this was epic in the anime and quite possibly one of my favourite moments of one piece)
- Most haki used moments

But it's also had it's downsides, like how they only blazed off half of Whitebeard's magnificent moustache, and in the manga it was more like half his face!

What do you think, any moments you preferred the anime over the manga, or vice versa?

Do you not find that there are more pinnacle moments though, just snippets that they made seem a lot more epic than the manga did? I originally had only seen the anime up until the FI arc, I took a bit of a break from OP and when I found the manga I was amazed, but now reading the whole thing for a second time, I'm noticing that the Oda has drawn something simple but the anime has expanded on the moment and made it 10 times better...

Of corse, that's why I like anime more but when the animators change the authors story I can't stand it......I mean they think their improving it but really their wrecking it..take tokyo ghoul for example..ever wondered how popular it would have been if they stuck to the authors manga?

Sorry, I have no idea what that is... Is it it good, what's it about?

However, people always go on about how the anime isn't cannon, I know quite a few times they've gone off of the original story but I think they just embellish on panels, for example, when Luffy is in front of Hody and the 100k enemies, Zorro and Sanji are fighting on who gets to kill who an how many, Luffy sort of brushes past them in the anime and they're a little startled, like telling to wait an stuff, he KO's 50k with conquerers and delivers a sweet blow to Hody... Now in the manga, it just shows Zoro and Sanji, then the next is Luffy using conquerers I think... So although Oda didn't show Luffy walking past them, the anime did and in this instance, I prefer to believe the anime if that makes sense... Obviously there are times where they're in the wrong too of course

True true... Thing I really dislike about only watching the anime too is that they have a massive intro for EVERY episode, a quick catch up so you only actually get around 10 - 13 minutes worth or something, so much they repeat each time and prolong certain times too...

Post-TS? Not really, maybe Smoker vs Vergo in the anime comes to mind but the animation was awful at times. Toei just sucks.
