I say Kakashi for these reasons:

His father commit suicide.
His best friend was crushed in front of him, to save him.
He had to kill his other friend.
His sensei was killed.
He lost one of his students to hatred/revenge.
He found out about 20 years later that his best friend actually was not killed, but, was killing others for a selfish dream world.

And, he still does things for good reasons, tries to help others etc.

Naruto comes second.

People like Sasuke, Obito, Madara all let their feelings get the better of them and started going on a selfish killing spree.

I would say Lee; he had always been a good guy and he did not need tnj for it; he always fought for his far-fetched dreams even when he was alone and had no one to support him; he graduated from academy with only taijutsu, Gai was not his master at those times:

He did forgive Gaara for crippling him and he always acknowledged his teammates even though they were being s**t to him; he saved Tenten's ass when Temari threw her away with her fan and he did not even used gates on Neji. He is one of the nicest and kindest people from the series; and no one had to beat him or give him a talk for him to be a good person.
