Epic:
Code Geass - a must watch. You might be discouraged if you don't like mecha like I was, but I'm telling you it's an anime that is awesome all the way through, and with what is possibly the best anime ending.
Death Note - different, original, and first twenty something episodes of it has the best duel of wits I ever saw
Slice of life/ romance :
Ano Hana- Amazing yet sad. The only anime that actually made me cry, not just have teary eyes.
Angel Beats - short, funny, and overall makes you feel nice. Not as focused on Romance, except the past few episodes xD
ToraDora- its a really good and a cute romance story.
Mirai Nikki - mix of action and romance, it's amazing and has some awesome soundtracks/opening
Steins;Gate - Plot is heavy but easy to understand. Has slice of life/rokance mixed with some science fiction
Sword Art Online - surprisingly it has one of my favorite pairings and has quite a bit of action that is executed amazingly
That's for anime although the Mangas I'm going to recommed bellow are better than some of the anime mentioned above.
Good Ending - romance/slice of life with amazing character development and manga that is not afraid to portray a more adult like relationships while still being able to stay Shonen.
I"s - if you liked Good ending you are going to like this.
The Last Game - only 18 chapters so far. Its a nice romance so far and has ability to make you laugh.
Herakoi- set in the University, and the main character is not an idiot. More mature but nevertheless a good romance story.
Liar's game - if you liked Code Geass and Death Note you are gonna gonna like this.
Hitman Reborn! - its 409 chapters, and once you get through first 40-50 chapters it gets really good, with a good plot, fighting scenes, power ups, and everything else you need in a good action manga. Also has an anime
Bakuman - it's amazing. If you are into Animes/Mangas you are going to love this. Though I would recommend reading more Mangas before reading this. It gives you a complete new prespective on how mangas are made, and hoe much hard work is needed for it to become an anime.
